I just read that Ortiz took the Wilder fight on seven weeks notice. Anyone know if that's true? I find that quite a high Bvllshvt level after telling AJ he doesn't have enough time to prepare for June.

Hearn was supposedly interested but said possible talks won't begin until after Chisora's fight Saturday.

Doubtful that there would be any real interest in matching 2 Brits at MSG.

And Chisora qualifies as a complete unknown in America.
David Haye is really trying to rinse Chisora before Dereck descends into being a full-time journeyman.

Haye knows he'll get a nice cut out of what will probably be Chisora's biggest ever purse.

I wouldn't put it quite like that. Love and hate are not emotions that I feel for any boxer, but if you're using the term in the modern casual throw away manner, then yes I guess I do. I "love" fighters who are willing to fight the best, no excuses, no waiting for the opponent to grow old, become vulnerable, move up in weight, fight only where they are going to get much needed protection.

I'd prefer to call it "admire him" rather than "love" which I find a bit cringe-inducing, and while I'm pleading guilty I would like the court to take the case of Dillian Whyte into consideration when passing sentence ;-)

To be fair, Ortiz was due to fight Wilder the November before, and then fought in Dec. And straight after that fight went back into training.

Ortiz is always in shape, doesn’t have much rest.

Negotiations began on Dec 19 and the fight was confirmed by Dec 30.

That’s a blatant myth! The Wilder-Ortiz bout was in the works well before the 8th December, 2017, which was more than twelve weeks prior to their 3rd March, 2018, fight-date (i.e. ‘The Bronze Bomber’ entering the ring after King Kong’s bout against Daniel Martz).

The majority of the boxing media claimed the bout had already been pretty much made from that point in time onwards, with confirmation being received that a deal was struck more than eight prior to the actual fight-date.

Ortiz was already in-shape prior to entering training camp for his bout against 'The Bronze Bomber'. And with his fight against Wilder being considered a “sure deal”, meant he had far more than eight weeks to prepare.

Why because I'm not oblivious to the fact that doesn't want the Joshua fight no matter how much money he's offered?

Because I'm aware that his opponents are very strictly vetted by his team? Because I'm aware that he enjoys the protection of the WBC?

For you he can do no wrong no matter what he does or what he doesn't do. I don't know whether that's endearing or pathetic.

I've very clearly stated why ad nauseum do yourself a favor and use your ignoring skills since it clearly upsets you and you refuse to admit the truth. I'm the same with all fighters, I prefer Joshua to wilder.

So we go from a very high interest fight to a very no interest fight. Is it a surprise that boxing continues to become less popular all the time, especially in the USA where it will take place, where the money is?

Hunter rated #20 by boxrec.
It could be worse. But it's not a top contender.
No one should be too excited about it either.

But the blame lies with Miller. This is all that fat bastards fault

Geez I hope it's Ortiz or Whyte. Hunter vs AJ is not a fight I would like to see.

I think most would prefer Ortiz.
But it is what it is.
Not many are going to take the fight on such short notice without already being in training

If Miller doesn't get a lengthy ban now there's no point in even testing anymore.

“U are just a fat s***” Dillian Whyte to Miller.

I am not sure what happens with Miller now, can't see any of the big promoters giving him a chance (once you take EPO you are in good ol' Lance Armstrong territory)

Oh, c'mon.

He's a bigger name than ever.

It's boxing. Controversy sells.

And if it sells, promoters want it.

That's my hunch. A year.

And he can probably apply for reinstatement in 6 months.

Boxing really doesn't take this drug stuff very seriously.

It can mate but these athletes get excellent doctors and specialists to give EPO - it is all very calculated!
