Re: Amir Khan vs. Kell Brook | Sky Sports PPV - 19 February 2022
If Khan starts fast like he does, with his speed (which hasn't completely gone), then he could do some damage.
Brook's punch resistance has declined a lot.
But then Khan could easily be dropped in round 1 as well.
Khan's always in exciting fights.

Its still a good fight infact in someways might be more intriguing as we really don't know who has what left. I would definitely favour Kell at 154 as Khan is not a big Welterweight.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑29 Nov 2021, 08:58 I have a feeling it will be £24.95 on PPV
Gonna be at the Manchester 'AO' Arena.
No doubt it will sell out.
Khan is from Greater Manchester himself, has a huge following from anywhere in the UK.
Brook is only an hour drive away over the Pennines.
Possibly last time they'll both be in the ring.
Definitely not as big as it would have been even 4 years ago, But it'll still do them both good ££'s.
It will probably be the last fight for both, but I hope the winner (if the fight is at 147) can have a payday against Ugas.

Khan's timing looked gone if not his speed against Crawford.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑29 Nov 2021, 08:59 If Khan starts fast like he does, with his speed (which hasn't completely gone), then he could do some damage.

Going to say it
Who would have thought though - after Eddie left Sky and left Sky with no one that Sky would have IMO anyway the THREE biggest UK fights since - I know 2 of them haven't happend.
AJ vs Usyk (okay that one was always going to be on Sky)
Eubank vs Williams
Khan vs Brook.
All bigger than Chisora vs Parker 2.

Pre-sale tickets set for Amir Khan vs. Kell Brook on Feb 19 in Manchester
Pre-sale tickets information is out in the open after bitter rivals Amir Khan and Kell Brook agreed to end their long-running feud next year finally.
Both have nowhere to go with their respective careers. Therefore, pitting the two together before retirement seemed the logical step.
The duo will enter the ring on February 19, 2022 to square off in one of the most long-drawn-out encounters in British boxing history.
BOXXER and Sky Sports will formally announce the fight at a press conference in London this afternoon, with the news set to polarize boxing fans who have clamored to see the two antagonists do battle for nearly a decade.
The last six years, in particular, have been painful for the UK fraternity.
Manchester will host the bout, with thousands of fans expected to attend the AO Arena [formerly Manchester Arena and the MEN].
Ben Shalom of BOXXER, who managed to do what Eddie Hearn tried and failed to do, cannot wait.
“Khan and Brook are icons of the sport in Britain, and this will be an iconic encounter,” he pointed out. “Their rivalry has simmered for years.”
AMIR KHAN vs. KELL BROOK
Sky’s Adam Smith, who will host the fight on Sky Sports Box Office Pay Per View, added: “Sky Sports has covered some of the biggest fights of both Khan and Brook’s careers, but this one is special.
“This is a heated feud which has simmered for years, and there’s so much pride at stake. It’s a real 50-50 fight, and we will find out in February who takes it!”
Tickets for this landmark moment in British boxing history will first be made available via an exclusive priority pre-sale. Fans can register for the pre-sale at Boxxer.com.
Furthermore, with the event expected to sell out quickly, fans who wish to attend the event are strongly encouraged to register for the pre-sale to avoid disappointment.

Amir Khan and Kell Brook will settle their differences in the ring, British duo clash on February 19
Long-time rivals Amir Khan and Kell Brook will clash at the Manchester Arena on February 19 in a 12-round bout. The fight will headline a Sky Box Office pay-per-view card in the U.K. and a U.S. broadcaster is to be confirmed.
An all-British showdown between Khan and Brook was the talk of U.K. boxing half a decade ago. At that time both men were rated within the Top 10 best welterweights in the world and Brook was the unbeaten IBF titleholder.
For a variety of reasons the bout fell through and the marination process – as always – led to both men being overcooked. Khan has fought just five times in as many years and suffered stoppage losses to Canelo Alvarez and Terence Crawford. Brook has won four of seven fights during that period and suffered stoppage defeats to Errol Spence Jr., Gennadiy Golovkin and Crawford.
However, as was the case when a long-awaited superfight between Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao finally came to fruition, the boxing world can be forgiving. The Khan-Brook collision is nowhere close to what it could have been but it will still generate significant interest in the U.K. and a great deal of money.
“Khan and Brook are icons of the sport in Britain and this will be an iconic encounter. Their rivalry has simmered for years, they are still by far the best welterweights in the country and the eyes of the world will be on them when they square off in February to finally settle the question about which of them is the better man,” said Ben Shalom, BOXXER’s founder and CEO.
Khan (34-5, 21 KOs), 33, from Bolton, is coming of a fourth-round stoppage of Billy Dib in July 2019. That fight was a Middle East money-spinner, but Dib was moving up three full weight classes and was therefore completely out of his depth physically.
Brook (39-3, 27 KOs), 35, from Sheffield, is coming off the aforementioned loss to Crawford in November of last year. The Englishman settled well in the first couple of rounds but a solid right hand decked him in the fourth and a follow-up assault from the pound-for-pound star forced the stoppage.

true, the shot that stopped Brook didn't look much and he will be dead at 147 so i think he is more shot than Khanstujones wrote: ↑29 Nov 2021, 08:57Khan looked awfull also - his timing was way off and he quit also!bigjack wrote: ↑29 Nov 2021, 08:54I think Brook looked worse as fas as being chinny and predict a Khan quick win providing he's still fast and it's at 147Boxerbeetle wrote: ↑29 Nov 2021, 08:47 Couldn’t give a shit about this fight tbh. Both guys are on the cusp of retirement, and both looked pretty shot against Crawford. Certainly not paying PPV.

Yes, Ricky mentioned this on Boxing Life Stories.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑27 Nov 2021, 09:22imagine they add it as a exhibition on the undercard.polecateddy wrote: ↑25 Nov 2021, 08:06 Potentially this tops Eubank and Benn facing off in a gladiator challenge in terms of an over the hill rivalry. Hatton v Junior Witter needs to be added to the undercard immediately!
Are Hatton and Witter on good terms?
As for Brook v Khan, PPV? Are you having a laugh?!
Glad to see them finally get it on but they must really think we're all suckers for having it on pay per view.
I guess it will sell though...
Re: Amir Khan vs. Kell Brook | Sky Sports PPV - 19 February 2022
So, it's finally official, which is great, because it's still an excellent bout, as the matchup is even and unpredictable. Both of them are past prime to face the top opposition, but fighting each other in such conditions is a good idea. And, of course, both being fragile makes it especially interesting.
I'd pick Brook to win by a KO simply because Khan has always been a definition of the glassjaw. Brook's chin is broken, but still it gotta be better than Khan's one, which can be shaken by a gentle breeze. I guess, Khan can win some rounds, as he's faster, but eventually Brook should catch Khan.

Press conference didn't categorically say but sound like it will be at 149 Khan saying "he stooped to his demands" - Not sure if 2 lbs will make a world of difference.
Re: Amir Khan vs. Kell Brook | Sky Sports PPV - 19 February 2022
Sounded like 149 - not categorically confirmed but Khan mentioned stooping to Kells demands and saying if he is a Welterweight why request it to be at 149.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑29 Nov 2021, 09:48 I haven't read the presses properly, at work.

Brook has lost 3 of his last 6 and Khan 2 of his last 5.
This is nothing but a cash grab, can't say I blame them though. I still think Brook is sturdier than Khan, but at 147 maybe not. I reckon it'll be a good scrap, because they are going to get involved due to aging legs.
