chizzy could barely touch him after the 2nd, some ppl make way too much out of that fight
Yeh, it was just Bellend shouting ringside, and all the post-fight nonsense. Even Hearn was saying it was close/Chis won.margaret thatcher wrote: ↑14 Dec 2021, 12:55 chizzy could barely touch him after the 2nd, some ppl make way too much out of that fight
Seemingly one of the most misremembered fights in recent yearsmargaret thatcher wrote: ↑14 Dec 2021, 12:55 chizzy could barely touch him after the 2nd, some ppl make way too much out of that fight
Mick - you can look through my past posts, I have never said anything against Travellers; quite the opposite I'd say from memory.mickey1975 wrote: ↑14 Dec 2021, 10:29No chance I'll quit for anyone. Yes, because that's the reason I get accused of being obsessed. The topics are very relevant. If I constantly accused any AJ fan of being a wannabe black man I'd be rightly banned.![]()
He's that good he could deliberately look poor and convince most on here he had no chance against Joshua.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑14 Dec 2021, 12:51Didn't he say he didn't perform his best on purpose against Chisora?margaret thatcher wrote: ↑14 Dec 2021, 12:28 how did he do awful vs witherspoon? he easily won every round and got hit like 20 times all fight.....
at least he didnt have a vagina carved into his eye like tyson did vs wallin![]()
He's probably not joking.
He probably had to show some vulnerabilities..
I don't. It's just every time I tip Fury, I get accused of it only being because he's a traveller. No, it's because I think he's very good. I've been proved correct.tonyevs wrote: ↑14 Dec 2021, 14:36Mick - you can look through my past posts, I have never said anything against Travellers; quite the opposite I'd say from memory.mickey1975 wrote: ↑14 Dec 2021, 10:29No chance I'll quit for anyone. If you take my critism o Fury as a slight against all Travellers then that's just odd.
And yes. I had on or two good hidings off Travellers when I boxed many years ago; unfortunately my less than world class boxing skills contributed to me also having quite a few good hidings of non Travellers too ..
Lewis would most likely battered Wilder before he got the chance. Lennoxs power is vastly underrated. Wilder would have left an opening early doors forced by Lewis ramrod jab.mickey1975 wrote: ↑14 Dec 2021, 11:30It did help Wilder that he's a serious banger. Almost anyone would have gone down. For one of the least skilled HW champions in history to be able to put you down 4 times in fewer than 30 rounds is not a ringing endorsement of your Ali-esque technical prowess.unknownman79 wrote: ↑14 Dec 2021, 10:56 Usyk is being vastly overrated up at heavyweight. He did awful against an ancient retired Witherspoon. He could barely keep Chisora off him and narrowly won. Joshua was totally gun shy so he didn't really have to do much to win.
If Cunningham can put him down, Usyk definitely can, a few times. The shots you don't see etc...
God yeah, Lennox would have absolutely destroyed Wilder. He’d take him seriously and ko him within 2 rounds, maybe even 1 round, imo.jamesmcdonnell wrote: ↑14 Dec 2021, 17:51Lewis would most likely battered Wilder before he got the chance. No chance was wilder better than Mercer. Ray on his good nights would have destroyed Wilder. Holyfields a top ten heavyweight and one of the best fighter of all time. Wilder has a tremendous right hand and literally nothing else. Ffs you know your boxing man what you on about here. Your pants go on fire when it comes to Furymickey1975 wrote: ↑14 Dec 2021, 18:57 He's better than Rahman, Mercer, that Croatian, Akinwande, Briggs, Derek Williams, Mason plus loads more. Lets Let's not wear rose tinted glasses. He got his clock cleaned by two fringe top 10 lads and a favour in the Holyfield rematch.
Wilder is not better, he just has q bigger punch. He's beaten almost nobody of note in his entire career in a weak era.mickey1975 wrote: ↑14 Dec 2021, 18:57 He's better than Rahman, Mercer, that Croatian, Akinwande, Briggs, Derek Williams, Mason plus loads more. Fury would probably call himself a slob.mickey1975 wrote: ↑13 Dec 2021, 02:36He's a slob? Usyk would have won every second of every round.
Fury was fortunate in getting there first. It's insane to suggest he has a similar skill set to Usyk .. he is just very tall and very awkward. The 3rd Wilder fight was like a pub brawl .. a million miles away from the skills Usyk showed against Joshua.
Let's be honest. Fury is a freak of nature in that he is a slob that can fight, and has a great engine.
But he is a slob .. who right now believes his own hype.
I believe we have seen the best of Fury. His ego is at a place now he doesn't think he needs to train properly. Maybe Whyte will be the one in the right place at the right time.
I wouldn't tip Wilder against Lennox, but 1 round is silly. Glen McCrory lasted two.bigjack wrote: ↑15 Dec 2021, 04:38You must be on the wind up Mickey,seriouslymickey1975 wrote: ↑14 Dec 2021, 18:57 He's better than Rahman, Mercer, that Croatian, Akinwande, Briggs, Derek Williams, Mason plus loads more. Wilder fights one way, coming forward,Mickey it's like you have forgotton all you know about boxing,Anyone who runs at Lewis is likely to get stopped earlymickey1975 wrote: ↑15 Dec 2021, 06:33I wouldn't tip Wilder against Lennox, but 1 round is silly. He stopped 1 person at a good level in 1! I watched his whole career. I haven't forgotten anything. I've said before he gets a free pass for being brutally knocked out, twice. If that was anyone else, they'd be useless. He was a great fighter, but to suggest Wilder wouldn't do as well as Sweet D Williams or McCrory is stupid.bigjack wrote: ↑15 Dec 2021, 06:51Wilder fights one way, coming forward,Mickey it's like you have forgotton all you know about boxing,Anyone who runs at Lewis is likely to get stopped earlymickey1975 wrote: ↑15 Dec 2021, 06:33I wouldn't tip Wilder against Lennox, but 1 round is silly. I commented to start with because you named several of Lewis's opponents and claimed Wilder was better than all of them, that's what made me laugh as you can't really believe that, you're a respected poster on here but that was just madness.Don't talk about Lewis getting favours-John McDermott ?mickey1975 wrote: ↑15 Dec 2021, 07:00He stopped 1 person at a good level in 1! Lets go back to the original point then, which top level fighters did Wilder beat ?mickey1975 wrote: ↑15 Dec 2021, 07:28 He was a pup then, about 20! Great learning fight and a lot closer than people make out. Re watch it. I had Mercer beating Lennox.
