Connor was shit 3 years ago. If your shit at 22, then 26 (he is 25 by the way) is not your prime.

id say for a welter absolute prime is generally 30, but thats not even taking into acount that connor was shit at 22. he is in no rush, just needs to stay active.
Prime isn’t a singular specific year. If he had been beat against Peraud and progressed thereafter he’d be pushed along at a more normal pace.
He’s currently everything that’s wrong with boxing; not fighting rivals, he’s “building and building” constantly, obviously protecting that 0 to a ridiculous standard, talking huge amounts and fighting stalker guys who are pretty much retired.
Ffs, get him in with Crawford, Ortiz, Spence, Ugas, ect.
A defeat shouldn’t define you and shouldn’t fear one; they can actually help in huge ways.
Asking someone that was shit a few years ago to get in with the killers you just listed is just you being blinded by hate and wanting him to take a loss. He does not beat any of them. Sure connors profile is ahead of him right now, just dont get carried away by it, you know its smoke and mirrors, i know its smoke and mirrors. promoters are going to call him a world beater, but reality is he is just progressing from prospect to contender.

Honestly, I'd like a couple of domestic fights : Ekow Essuman, jenkins, Kahn or brook..

maybe if the khan-brook loser looks bad enough it could happen, or if they both look utter crap maybe even the winner?

He has essentially side stepped the whole domestic scene.
It would probably have been a better way to build a fan base locally.
I don't understand why, and what a shame to have never even tried for the Lonsdale, be an even bigger shame if he falls short on the world level. Anyway I can't abide him at all, so what do I care.

He should definitely just wait for the winner of brook v khan. Either of them may/june would be a huge fight in the uk. He probably beats either pretty handily these days.

I’m a fan of his. I’ve been to watch him vs Grenados. No hate here, my friend.
I’m just a fan of fighters wanting to roll the dice.
It won’t be Hooker next (a light welter really). It will be the once-retired Ghost.
Benn isn’t learning from fighting veterans all the time in Vargas, Algieri and Grenados.
Boxing should be a competitive sport; get him in a competitive fight.
Who knows who he can or can’t beat as we don’t have a very good current yardstick of where he’s at.

He’s gonna skip the European title too, unless it falls vacant.

They tried to make the fight with Jenkins but Frank wouldn’t let Jenkins accept and wanted it to go to purse bids which would have delayed things and meant a longer period of inactivity so he fought Formella instead. I think Formella is a better opponent than Jenkins would have been.

Essuman’s a decent fighter but has no profile really in the U.K. so I’m not sure Conor has anything to gain from it.

I think all of us on here prefer it when fighters go for the British title but I can understand why Conor didn’t go that route.

Conner himself talks some right old bollocks.

One minute he's calling the fight between Brook and Khan a fight between two fighters well past their prime (which it is) next breath he wants to fight the winner. This is after saying Guerrero is too old.

He laughs at McKinson's style and calls it boring, yet he's the one going in against Ortiz jr and has taken some good domestic scalps on his way through.

A bit deluded Benn is sometimes, but no surprise because he's having too much smoke blown up his arse.

Exactly. I’ve got no issue with Benn taking his time but he needs to stop talking shite whilst doing so.

And he remained competitive for another few rounds. From memory I had it pretty even after 6 before Essuman took over.

This could be the year of Conor Benn – Eddie Hearn certainly hopes so, after making him the face of DAZN’s UK output as it heads into its first full year.

Any people travelling on the Tube in London in December will have seen Benn’s face in a lot of adverts ahead of his fight with Chris Algieri.

The fight with Chris Algieri, where Coner was jumping up and down laughing and celebrating while Chris lay unmoving on the canvas?
Yeah, what a hero.

Think Ekow won it fairly handily. Good finish too, Jenkins no mug either.

You really need to stop listening to self promotion... He isnt going to come out and say "im gunning for number 12 spot this year".... If you ignore the talk his carrer progression is fine, its only when you listen to it that its all a hoax.

Just don’t get why fighters need to build and build to their “big shot”.
Crawford is 34 and was losing to Porter before landing a peach. Ugas isn’t anything special… I expect Spence to beat him easily and Avanysen is Euro champion but yet he’s not ready for any of them.
Since the Peraud fight he’s come on leaps. I want him to be in with a live fighter who is under 33 who will come to win… and genuinely believing he can.
Sometimes you have to roll the dice.
He talks shite and he’s deluded; I’m entitled to remark of that as this is a boxing forum.
He’s impressed me a lot in the ring recently… he’s even said before he knows he will lose a few fights and he’s happy with that as long as he’s entertaining.
Dismissing Marku, and telling him to come back with a belt before he even looks at him.
Could be awhile before Conor gets himself one.
Maybe him and Eddie are waiting for a vacant shot when Crawford hangs them up and Spence moves up.
