I'm sure Hughie is still 19 years old. He's got time.

Moses Itauma doesn't beat Mike Tyson's record of being the youngest world heavyweight champion.

Highly unlikely, but fingers crossed he does it.

within 12 months of going pro mike was already 19-0 and then fought tillis his next fight, just dont see that sheeyat anymore. im no old boi nuthugger, but when you look back at some of these records from generations ago you see how much tougher ta lot of these guys were handled

even with soft titles floating around these days guys are matched too weak and too slowly to seriously threaten mike's record

these days we hear about guys in their late 20s taking things slow because theyre young, got lots of time left, still developing etc. ffs , as someone mentioned the other day, by the time sugar ray leonard was 25 he'd fought hearns, duran, and benitez :o

It would be great if he fought on all FWs shows, building a record and a following

All absolutely correct. But even if Itauma did get that kind of tougher, faster handling, to beat Tyson's record he has the more intractable problem of leaping ahead of a growing queue of HWs who have a good argument for a shot. And only two champions, who don't fight *that* often and may just surprise us by fighting each other.

PS: I am really looking forward to seeing what he can do. Some great highlights at international amateur level, but this is a whole new thing.

Let's see, if he is fighting well overmatched folks every month building a KO reel and a fan base while getting quality sparring it isn't a bad thing.

4-5 times a year isn't enough and he will go backwards

I'm excited

As often with young prospects it’s whether he can keep himself focused and train hard, so easy to go off the rails at that age or believe your own hype. He’s a big lump for 18 and still growing so it’ll be interesting to see how it goes for him.

Could be the new Dubois. He was flattening no hopers as a teenager as well.

If Queensberry ever put him in with someone who doesn’t collapse from the first punch they get hit with we might find out.

Thanks for your opinion. Don’t see what’s negative about that post, it’s a pretty fair statement.

That wraps up the first year of moses pro stint (unless he tries to wiggle onto the december 23 undercard.)

Pretty good year, but not amazing. 7-0, 5 joke fights, 2 real fights.

Not every fight as a raw 18 year old propsect can be real, you gotta stack your record a bit. Guessing its much of the same next year but start schedualing 8 rounders.

Should just look at anyone thats gone 4+ rounds vs Fisher or Adeley and fight them next year.... IF he smokes them in a round its a good look, If he dosent then he gets some rounds in and can asses where he is at.

Wouldent mind see him rematch Kostiantyn Dovbyshchenko over 10 rounds later on in the 2024.

+ Nathan gorman, Dave Allen, Kingsly ibeh or Solomon dacres as end of year 2024 step up...

thanks mate, I unmuted as he was banging on about me. You're right tho, going to pop him on mute. Cheers mate. I just know people are happier if they don't do hate. Life is too short. I had another stroke albeit TIA last month, just be nice and be positive it is good for the body and soul.
