Sorry, my brain was in specific 'mob hunt and beating' mode there. I get what you mean now
I'm just a bit more worried with how this is developing as my children are mixed race and there's an element out there who will just see a brown skinned teenager (13) and think it's open season, despite the fact he's Scottish, a really mild mannered, polite kid who attends church every Sunday with his mum and brothers.
There's already a 'Patriot' group in my home city, (made up of the usual group of people with previous convictions) out doing patrols. Fair enough, in that aspect they might well be helping in a way. However, there's also an underlying unsavoury side, like a sign with 'Death to all n*****' appearing outside a primary school and group members posting up racist remarks in social media. This can influence others, it spreads and it grows.
I always try to see an argument from both sides and understand the full resentment that's happening now. However, seeing innocent people burnt out of their homes and attacked on the street just because of their skin colour, it affects my emotions possibly more than others purely because of family, of which there is no greater feeling.

I understand your position, my two youngest are mixed race so I get it. It should never have been allowed to come to this, but our politicians are in denial and I suspect it'll get worse unless they wake up to reality (ie. what's causing all this ill feeling).

I think the denial by politicians is the inevitable endgame of decades spent accusing each other of racism. They've boxed themselves in.
In this vacuum there is opportunity and reform - and restore to a lesser extent - have stepped in and speak the language of the man in the street.
I don't think politicians are stupid people. But they've surrounded themselves in an echo chamber situation where the accusation of racism is akin to accusing a woman of witchcraft in the middle ages. They weaponised the allegation. They all do it, year in, year out. The gap between the political class and the man in the street widened and they kept doing it. I know of no remotely well known politician who hasn't accused opponents of racism.
They're now caught in their own trap. All they can do is speak in broad terms about immigration. Meanwhile the situation in society overtook them. Even nonwhite citizens have concerns. Nonwhite people join reform.
They are safe attacking protestors. But I suspect deep down they know they're in trouble.

It would be funny if it wasn't so problematic. On one hand, this monster isn't just a lone wolf, beheading is commonplace in his 'culture'. But also, somewhere like Northern Ireland has got such a small population it could be overrun within a generation.
