How many of us would actually begin supporting Audley as the massive underdog who wouldn't give up on his dream.

I think Haye should look to take on some top ten fighters in he can’t get a Klit fight and try and place himself as a mandatory rather than worrying about his fan base. If he does that and actually becomes a heavyweight world champion I’m pretty sure the British public would be more than happy to get behind him.

Sprott had been out fighting the top opposition in Europe and only tasted canvas the one time, when Chagaev bludgeoned him into it in the 8th rd -- yet Audley decked him hard in the opening rd.

For all the criticisms, Audleys a huge bloke & while not a puncher he obviously can whack a bit when he plants his feet.

People keep banging-on about how rich Audley is, any estimations on what he's worth?

I think Harrison has stumbled on a formula; that formula is to utter as much nonsense as possible to give an air of delusion, so that fight fans will keep talking about him, because he knows that a fighter as useless as himself would not normally generate many column inches.

The longer we keep talking about him, the longer he can earn money out of a sport that he has not right participating in.

That's a decent shout, but when does Harrison really ever plant his feet?

He's normally terrified when an opponent aims a punch in his general direction, so he's not going to be planting his feet too often IMO.

audley is deluded, he would be better off trying to fight the likes of john macdoughnut than trying to hang onto hayes coat-tails !!!

and for him to be pissed off cos haye tried to hit him in sparring, FFS, what is haye meant to do, stand there and let audley piss on him without firing back !!!

audley 'spent force' harrison is becoming a joke, cant even secure the british belt and he is on the case of someone potentially challenging for the big on ein his next fight.

audley should be calling out a sprott rematch, or a macdermott fight, or sam sexton, or someone like that, jesus....i would even pick tyson fury to lay audley out. come on meaty mick, make the match !!

Why should Haye worry about his fanbase?
I was at the full house in the o2, and although there was a large contingent of Welsh fans, Haye got the biggest cheer of the night.
Haye was superbly managed before the Enzo fight.
At the end of the day he fought against tough, quality pro's of differing styles and who have made him the fighter he is today. That sure beats beating a load of bums whilst earning shedloads, but not really improving as a fighter.
No one remembers how many bums you put on seats or how much you and your promoter made from beating 3rd rate fighters...people DO remember Undisputed World Champions though :TU:

Audley is finished.
If Haye is serious about becoming Heavyweight Champ and taking on the Klits in the near future, then he shouldn't be messing around with Heavyweights who are not even in the Worlds top 50.
Aim for a top 15 guy at least if you want to keep the Klits interested. Hell, if you want a domestic dust up, look at Skelton once he beats Rogan. Recent former World Title Challenger and current European Champ. Easy a top 15 Heavyweight right now.

So you think Audley, who has never beaten any fighter even close to fringe level and has his career best win as a revenge victory over Williams but has lost four fights, to two fringe guys, one known loser BRITISH level guy and one untested novice, has shown a lack of heart, desire, fire, power, dedication and mental fortitude, not to mention age wise being past an age where he can improve as favorite over a guy who is at his peak, proven world class operator, hits hard, always shows up in shape, trains like a demon and has a proven track record????

Very curious

Not sure on the rules for betting on this forum, but if the fight comes off, I will bet you any sum you like that Haye wins. I would happuly bet 10 - 1 with anyone on this, maximum bet £20k

Haye-Harrison will not be happening & I'm sure evne Audley would have to admit is highly unlikely the fight will take place.

Harrison has got to get his career back on track while Haye's target is Wladamir. Haye & Harrison are at opposite directions currently. Can't see that changing anytime soon.

Half of the stuff you read you do not know what to & what not to believe. However, if Audley has treated Haye well & Haye has not shown him any kindness back or shown him respect then that's simply wrong! Like I say, it could all be exaggerated though, I don't know!

I like Haye - he's good for the sport, has charisma, is a character!

Audley needs to start being more active. That would be a start in the right direction for him!

As a making time fight I think this is a pretty good one. Realistically the Klitschko fight will probably not happen immediatly so he could do with fighting another HW and is most likely to be able to get a journy man. A journy man with an Olympic goald medal a good record and name recognition is better than most you can get. Also Audley has a strong jab and beating someone who's that big will look good on the tele.

not sure why there are so many refferences to the rocky films in that audley press release

I can kind of sympathise with Harrison in as much as David Haye turning up and trying to blast him out. That sounds like Haye showing off in front of Lennox.
Thing is I always thought a spar was just that - maybe not "all in", but basically practicing for a fight - and that includes throwing punches.
I don't think Frank Bruno, or Lennox Lewis or most boxers would have stood though and got the piss taken, at the end of the day you're a fighter, should be in at least some sort of decent physical shape to make it competetive, although if Haye was 2 weeks before a fight you could imagine him being significantly sharper.

Sometimes things happen that you don't expect, doesn't mean you don't have to get on with it. Sounds like Audley wanted to jog on the beach for 2 weeks then come back and have a massage and a chat with his agent and put his latest time up on his website. That statement "I hadn't actually done any BOXING SPECIFIC training since December" that's a bit embarrassing to me. He's a boxer - maybe that's what he should have been doing.
