Too many mugs on this forum. I told you all about Audley, and I told you all about Fury. Yet no one listens.

If you say EVERYTHING is shite, then you're bound to have a few "told you so"s come to pass.Exoddus wrote:Too many mugs on this forum. I told you all about Audley, and I told you all about Fury. Yet no one listens.

What level do you predict he will reach?Spud wrote:I am not giving up on him just yet.
He is young and last nights fight and the way it went will be a massive learning curve for him - I completely agree with everyone who says Fury lost the fight - however Fury stuck in there when the likes of Audley would have dive bombed into the canvass - Fury is clearly at one of them crossroads - in my view he clearly has talent but there is also clearly a lot of work to be done.
Do not give up on him just yet.
Fury made McDermott turn away a few times. I think he did get to McDermott a bit, late on in the fight.forcefraser wrote:However, it was his lack of power that dissapointed me. Never had McDermot in trouble.
Fury's fight with McDermott was a big step up in class for him and he was competetive against McDermott.Abbo wrote:If I was Furys manager, i would do a "JD Chapman". i.e build up a record of 40 wins. cos when he fights a live one, he's toast.
Go on lad, great shoutAsterix wrote:Don't call other people mugs.Exoddus wrote:Too many mugs on this forum. I told you all about Audley, and I told you all about Fury. Yet no one listens.

OK? :P
At most IMO, McDermott showed up his limitations and he is only a quality domestic gatekeeperHorse wrote:Fury's fight with McDermott was a big step up in class for him and he was competetive against McDermott.Abbo wrote:If I was Furys manager, i would do a "JD Chapman". i.e build up a record of 40 wins. cos when he fights a live one, he's toast.
If Fury can get just a bit better then he will be at British title class.
I'm not saying he can't improve, that is why i'm saying he could win a domestic title rather than an area one but you can't turn water into winestujones wrote:He's just 21, Coco - lot of physical muturing left in him.
Lets see what he is like with his man strength. Experience is the key, and he will get alot more experience. He expanded alot of nervous energy in the introduction - wasting it through his talking, smiling and prancing about.
Remember Danny Williams's first match with Julius Francis... he did okay in his career, and many see him as an under achiever.
He got exposed a bit, but he passed alot of tests aswell.... How will he react when he takes on on the chin - Pretty good, good natural survival instincts (he was pretty fecked at some stages), showed some heart.
Alot of what he "failed" on will improve with age/experience. For me, his stamina is questionable... that can be worked on, his power will improve when he matures, defence will improve with experience. etc.
So I still think there is alot to like and be encouraged about in the future and its still impossible to predict what level he will end up on. Especially in the weak devision, its all down to how he learns from this fight.
Lets wait to see Price being tested before hailing him as the next george foreman (I know you didn't) - its very early days for Price.jBacca wrote:I'd be alot more hopeful of Fury if say he had a knockout punch. There's alot for him to improve, and alot of time for him to do so, but will he ever be able to dramatically improve his power?
I don't believe so, and on that note, Price is a bigger prospect imo.
I simply don't think that's the case Stu - I genuinely can't envisage a scenario where Fury suddenly starts developing KO power. Struggling to think of a single example at heavyweight where that's happened...stujones wrote: Fury's power will come better when he has his man strength.
exactly,he is 21 ffs.heavyweights mature late anyway.the only reason he is getting so much stick is because of his mouth.he looked fooked because he genuinely thought he was only going to be doing 2-3 rounds.he stuck it out though, and showed a good chin.loads to learn and loads of time to learn it.still a great prospect, could do with getting a new trainer though,no disrespect to egan but he is an amatuer man.give him a chance lads,we all know he lost, but its not his faultstujones wrote:Lets wait to see Price being tested before hailing him as the next george foreman (I know you didn't) - its very early days for Price.jBacca wrote:I'd be alot more hopeful of Fury if say he had a knockout punch. Fury's power will come better when he has his man strength.
