I don't know mate but Bomber was saying he was quite disheartened by his last controversial defeat.

He needs to get his head down and get the work in. I think if he had his rematch against Lindsay and manages to avoid one of those huge shots again, then he'll pick up the win. It was a freak knockout that happened to him.

It's just gone downhill since Choi.

Rematch Ramogoadi. He has to win that one.

If he wins, then fight Paul Appleby at either feather or super-feather. Appleby may move up now anyway.

That would be the perfect run for him, I think. If he then beats Appleby, you're looking at a return with Lindsay or a shot at the British super-feather belt. If not, then he's probably not going anywhere fast.

Hope not but there's always the chance. Derry is still with Hayemaker isn't he? The fight could happen!

Derry will put things straight against Ramogadi...then move on from there. He was winning the fight convincingly against Lindsay untill he pulled that left hook out the bag. I think Derry just needs that little bit of luck, an he will get back on track :box:

How do you get on sparring with Derry? It's understandable if you don't want to answer.

Matthews went down, didn't look like a punch but more of a clash of the heads and then a push. He got up on 9 and was perfectly fine, only for the ref to call it off. He was ahead as well.

Can't see what is to be gained from a rematch with Ram.... Derry was dominating that fight, only for the ref to mess it up.

He does seem a decent guy, yeah- but does seem to ahve a bit of a temper, after the Choi fight ITV showed him walking back to his dressing room, whacking the wall as he went past in anger- maybe just caught him at a bad time.

After the Harry Ram fight he stormed out the ring, possible said something to the ref too, didn;t hear for sure. However, this is a bit more understandable.

I thought Matthews was going to be the next best thing before his fight with Choi and its just gone downhill since then i would like to see him fight Ram again then have a rematch with Lindsay as he was outboxing him until that hook caught him i think he can do a decent job at British level but at World level his chin will get exposed he has all the skills though

(1)he needs to move up to 130lbs it seems obvious to me

appleby will be joining him before long.

(2) Ramagodi, then a ranked fighter (Johansson??) then someone like Nicky Cook, if i was in matthews' team i would be doing that. and the last 2 are definitely winnable fights for him IMO

The concern with Ramagodi is that Matthews might go in "full steam" after the frustration of the last fight (which wasn't, of course, Ramagodi's fault) and leave himself open to getting caught.

I'd not normally suggest this ever, but it could be prident just to have him boxing again soon against an Eastern European, someone he can comfortably outbox and stop- get the confidence back up again.

The last fight was at super feather and everything I heard prior to Ramogoadi was that it was a permanent move up.
I was in the gym a couple of weeks before the fight and I was impressed with Mathews, he was punching harder and generally looked good.
As Swifty has said he just needs a bit of luck, it could have been him fighting for the title on Saturday and the ref was far too eager to step in when he fought Ramogoadi. However he was too slow in getting back up and only as himself to blame for that.
He needs a confidencing building fight to get him back on track soon.

Derry just needs the rub of the green to be totally honest!! He's a top level operator on his day!! The wins over Simpson and Foster prove this to be honest!! he'll stop Ramagodi in a rematch I know he will!! I think the ref was bang out of line last time to be fair!!

I miss Derry's fight night's as he was always in a good fight and brought an army of fans who wouldn't stop singing for him!! Good lad and a good fighter. I feel he'll come back and I for one would back him against Lindsay too!!

It's only a matter of time for Swifty too!! Titles are a certainty for that kid!! One of the brightest talents this country has produced in the last decade!! Big views I know BUT he is that GOOD!!
