2009 inactive Australian fighters.

Post by Hounddawg »

I was going thru the ranked boxers in the Boxrec Australian ratings and was amazed how many of our talented boxers and future prospects have not had a fight or a scheduled fight for this year.

2 lists world rated and up and comers.(No particular order),list is based on no fights schduled for a future bout.

World Rated

1, Sakio Bika 27-3-2
2, Sam Soliman 35-11
3, Kali Meehan 35-3
4, Hussien Hussein 31-5
5, Ranoy Ganoy 25-11
6, Lawrance Tuasa 30,6,1

Up and comers

1, Dominic Vea 10-1
2, Mohammad Elomar 18-1
3, Adam Forsythe 4-0
4, Ahmad Elomar 15-1-2
5, Chris McCullen 12-1
6, Jamie Withers 11-0
7, Zradvko Micevic 5-0
8, Michael Hatwell 5-0
9, Serge Yannick 3-0
10, Emmett Gazzard 8-0

Why are these boxers listed not fighting, especially the up and comers? an awful lot of talent being wasted. :shame:
Anyone know what's happening with any of these fighters?
Very interested to find out why most of these guys have not fought in 6 months.

Mo Elomar is under suspension for the Kickett aftermath & Adam Forsyths career may be over due to injuries suffered during a altercation related to Perth gym firebombings.

2, Sam Soliman 35-11
3, Kali Meehan 35-3
4, Hussien Hussein 31-5 Was scheduled to fight after Team Hussein's May 29 show, but Billy pulled the plug on the show 'cos he's going overseas after it, therefore unable to train Hussy for it.

Bika's last fight was a 12 rounder in November last year. That's only about 6 months ago. The local boxing people get narky about boxers 35 or over fighting too often.

Meehan had two fights last year. At 39 he is probably restricted in the number of fights the NSW Authorities will allow him. Usually they force boxers who have passed their 35th birthday to retire.

So many questions, what sort of injury does Withers have, and any news when he'll enter the ring?

Obviously hussy' brother is going to the US to help with Vic. Any news when he'll re enter the ring?

Emmett busted his ear drum is that correct?

So McCullen and Tuasa have called it quits, that's a shame, both are quality boxers.

Blanket age policy is now history. The NSW Authority now accesses each current & previously registered boxers on fight to fight basis. But it will not register anyone new over 36.
