What next for Rendall Munroe?

Post by alexpaterson »

What do you think Rendall should do next i think he should fight Jason Booth and if he wins maybe get a fight with Cordoba he would have to improve to fight at world level but i think he can make it

Get him in with Booth for the British title. For me Munroe holding three belts would eclipse Dunne holding the WBA's '2nd version' of the world-title.

Is it not the fighters that you beat for the belts that determines how big an accomplishment it is

Booth would be a great test the thing i noticed about Munroe was when he attacked he forgot about his defence IMO Booth would capotilise on Munroes faults but i still think Munroe would have enough maybe scrape a points win

European title win = Martinez (Rendell was 7/1 to win)
European title mandatory defences = Boaita and Martinez + Martirosyan (I can't recall if he was a mandatory)
Commonwealth title win = A complete bum
British title win = Booth

For me, that would push Dunne's and Munroe achievements very close. I feel Munroe would've done the better work.

Would like to see him in with Booth. I think Booth has really sorted himself out of late and is looking better than ever. I think Booth takes this on points.

European title win = Martinez (Rendell was 7/1 to win)
Doesn't matter if he was 77/1 to win - that doesn't make Martinez any better.

I didn't say it made Martinez anything - I was just stating the odds. And not a lot of people picked Munroe for the win, especially when Martinez finished his last fight before that in under a round. It was a belting win, nothing can take anything away from that.

And before you start, I am not anti-Dunne. I like him and I feel that Munroe would suffer a KO if these two ever fought. Don't get on your high-horse because I am praising Munroe. Just because I am praising Munroe doesn't mean I am critiquing Bernard Dunne.

Although Dunne isn't a world champion and the WBA belt-holder, Cabellero is.

I suggested hyland but would munroe have to defend his commonwealth or will he give it up?

Hopefully Dunne but Hyland would be beaten by him so it wouldn't be much of a step up. Maludrottu or Monshipour would be who I would put him against because I think Dunne has to fight that Thai fighter next.

Dunne wants to fight the best now so i would say caballero for dunne next as vazquez is uncertain about his future and lopez looks to be moving up.

It has to be a step up in class, i wouldn't argue if he fought Booth next, I think he would win by UD, then it has to be a recognized top 20 fighter.

Look on the WBA's website and you will see the story relating to the Thai fighter and Dunne.

Yeah i'd have to agree Dioufy. Munroe will have won several fights while Dunne has ne stunning win he lost in one too Kiko Martinez who's number Munroe clearly has.

I'd like to see Munroe get Booth for the British and Maldrottu is a good call in a European title defence then fight Dunne if he can. Maybe get Micheal Hunter in on the action too.

It should be paul hyland in dublin,
cos if munroe was to fight dunne it is going to be in dublin,
at least fighting paul it will give him a taste of what a dublin crowd are like supporting their own,
and IMO i think paul could hold his own against munroe,
and if munroe was to fight dunne he would have to vacate the european
so he might as well give paul a shot before he gives it up
and the fact maloney has promised paul a european title fight too but napa lost his title so there is only munroe left
so hopefully the fight will happen

As you are the man in the Hyland camp, can you tell me if there has been any discussions with regards this and how many of the Hyland brothers would you need in the ring at one time to beat him - would are you suggesting tag team! ;)

Put him in with Lopez to put an end to this Dunne v Munroe business

then put Dunne in with Lopez and put an end to Bernard Dunne

pair of hype jobs who will do their very best to avoid the best.

Honestly i think paul could last the distance with munroe, 1 on 1 (for sligobhoy)
it would be a tight affair though and would have to go to the scorecards IMO
but if munroe fights like he did last time out for the commenwealth im sure paul will have be the one with his hand raised at the end of the night,
The other 2 hylands (pajo & eddie) are just too big for him
Pajo is too strong while eddie is too much of a brawler for him
