Hatton was stopped in two rounds by Manny Pacquiao on Saturday leading many to call for his retirement from the sport.
However, a fight with Pacquiao's sparring partner, assuming Khan beats Andreas Kotelnik on June 27, would be a massive draw if the Hitman opts to fight again.
Warren, who promoted Hatton for the majority of his career, says
he believes the Manchester fighter has nothing left and so would be a good choice for Khan -
even though he would not want to see the contest to take place.
"As a boxing fan I hope [it doesn't happen] because Ricky Hatton should retire," Warren said.
"Representing Amir Khan I'd love to make the fight because its a win for him.
"He was poleaxed and its not the first time - the same thing happened against Floyd Mayweather.
"He was never in the fight, he was badly hurt. he's a rich man he's got nothing to prove and he can't prove it. whatever he had is gone.
"This is a dangerous business. Its the most dangerous sport of all of them. You want to know where the money is. Not have that when you've made it all you can't remember where the bank is."
