Sutherland Wants Tougher Tests

In my view Maloney has got a bloody good boxer on his books in Sutherland - lets hope he stays patient and simply beats whoever is put in front of him.

I suppose your right - the article didn't say much it was just an excuse to get something going about Suterhland - been watching some clips of him - before I was quite ignorant about him - now I am starting to think out of all those who have recently turned "pro" he could be the Number 1 out of the lot of them - I think Joe Murray could also be one to watch for too.

@sutherlands age he's probablly close to his prime & wants to get to top level before it passes.i say throw him in now he can handle it, & is best of giving away expieriance as he is a much better fighter.& mistakes can be ironed out @ domestic class.

I say 5 more fights then a British (if hes eligable im not sure) then go from there he's definetly a huge prospect and shouldnt be taken to fast but at 26 he cant wait forever either so about 5 learning fights then go up the slope to world level IMO

I think I'll take a trip to Fenton Manor for the show, its only 10 minutes walk away from my uni which is a bonus, and although its not a thrilling card by any means I'll give it a shot.

Always been impressed with Sutherland from what I've seen at the Olympics to his early pro fights so far. If he can get a "tougher" opponent in Stoke, he may be prove to be a step ahead in terms of where the other Olympians are at this stage.

I would too. He's in his mid-twenties now and should be fighting every few weeks if he's fighting journeymen, just the way Fury is doing it. Only two fights since he debut at the end of last year isn't sufficient. He certainly needs to be boxing a lot more regularly.

Ask El Raincoat, he has done plenty of Q&As with boxers both on the domestic and world scene.

At his age, he needs to get a move on. Look at Degale fighting unbeaten fighters already compared to Sutherland who is fighting guys who would have a hard time hitting a punch bag. How long is that going to go on for? They all say they want stiffer tests, I hope Sutherland is man enough to tell Frank to f*ck off if he keeps putting fodder in front of him.

CHEERS eric but i was thinking more along the lines of a 24 hour thread of question and then he could answer them, if he had the time of course. JBacca thanks for that i may drop el raincoat a pm.
Yeah good idea, a thread is the best idea as we will be able to see answers to all the questions

My main concern with Joe, Spud, is the weight division he's in at elite level.

I also like Sutherland. Even at the trials I thought he might be the best of the crop going pro. I'd marry his left hook tomorrow.

I don't see the point hanging round with the bum of the month club - he is entitled to ask his manager for better opposition.
