Franky, Froch & Hennessey

Post by sweetscience »

I get the feeling 2 if not 3 of the above will be working together soon

FW Sun peice was quite warming to Hennessey & Froch before & after the Taylor fight, going as far as Advertising that Stream for the fight Hennessey were selling

Does anyone in the Know, know ?

It would surprise me. Froch has been pretty anti Warren in the past. Warren Boxing Organisation reference for one.

Didn't know about the link ad to frochvtaylor though

Looking at the 'board news' post it appears Mick has won bids for Cleverly's next fight. Not sure if that could have anything to do with it?

Warren also was pretty scathing of Froch's calling out of Calzaghe, claiming Froch was shy of fighting JC when it was being talked about a while back.

Sounds like bollocks to be fair, but he said it.

It could easily happen, FW needs top level fighters, Hennessy needs TV and to learn how to sell fights. I doubt they will ever like each other but business is business

Boxers show more civil behaviour after being punched in the face for 12 rnds than promoters ever do.

Think FW has painted himself into a corner with regards to TV avenues for future exploration so I think he is probably in favour of seeing the on line PPV industry take off - he was advertising the Froch v Taylor fight on his site.

Mutual interests can soon see old foes become friends, especially in boxing..

Seriously guys - I would be stunned for Hennessy to do business with Mr W arren!!!

Why on earth would it happen or how could it happen!!!

Come on think about it - Froch is the WBC champion - what has W arren got other than some contacts - Hennessy will argue has the same contacts and now Froch has beaten Taylor where is the need for W arren.

Some of you are seriously barking up the wrong tree - and yes I already know I am barking but W arren and Hennessy doing voluntary business concerning Froch - nah - they say never say never especially in boxing - so unless Froch is nearing the end of another contract - I will be foolish enough to say never - never and never!!!

Sky +.

Will Sky be happy to do a pay-per-view deal with Hennessy?

Those contacts bring TV and TV generates millions of pounds and millions of pounds make beautiful friendships

I know Mick Hennessy enough to state he came into boxing wanting to do a better job than the likes of Frank W arren - to go cap in hand for the sake of contacts or indeed anything would have him lose face and everything he has worked hard in boxing to achieve - something I would be truly astounded to see happen.

I remember in the early days stating to him - why dont you join up with other promoters by doing a joint promotion - by getting the better boxers from each stable to put on a massive show - he looked at me laughed his b*llocks off and then proceeded to take the p*ss.

No chance will he go in with W arren - he will lose one hell of a lot of respect if he does - Please remember the endless spats that used to go on with W arren and Hennessy - W arren may think it convenient to forget those to get on with the business in hand - but I am positive Hennessy wont!!!

It will depend on whether Hennessy can get TV by his own means and whether he will not cut his nose off to spite his face. FW would never let a bit of hatred get in the way of making a few quid

Coco - I think we underestimate Hennessy!!

He has survived a bloody long lean spell not so long ago when others have suffered and gone to ground - do not underestimate "Meaty Mick". :TU:
