Cleverly vs Boyle

This fight is coming up on Friday, any thoughts? Cleverly is a heavy favourite at 1/5.

Will be a tough test for Cleverly but i think he'll have enough skills to overcome Boyle im going for a wide UD decision

im not overly impressed by this one sided match up, without being disrespectful to boyle, he is a limited brawling type club fighter with little finess, he may well have big stones and a will to win, but he has only ever partly shone against limited journeyman type opposition, he didnt look 'all that' in the LH prizefighter either.

cleverley on the otherhand has looked promising, his skills are there to be seen and his power seems to be developing, he certainly is one for the future but he has not really been clocked on the chops yet, this is due to his decent defence and clever matchmaking.

expect cleverley to wear a brawling boyle down in about 7 rounds.

1/5 If you can get it is a steal, he is 1/20 and 1/33 in most places

I think Cleverly will stop Boyle late. Those wins over the overmatched Africans has convinced me that he carries real power.

Expect ol Boyo to win this easily , bit of a test cos boyle can hit a bit and is more of a threat than the last African no marks he fought.
Needs to fight someone who can really test him with a smack on the chops , but i dont see this guy doing it .
Good matchmaking has built him up to what he is , he aint no light heavy and all will be revealed when he fights someone of higher calibre

Any ideas anyone ??????????

Cleverly should win this quite wide on points depending on how much Boyle is allowed to get away with the rough tactics. I know Boyle likes to rough up his opponents.

Poor Friday Fight Night headliner. I guess it's too much to ask to have two decent FFN's on the bounce.

I think it could be a interesting fight myself. Boyle will give his all thats for sure and better than bringing some unknown African over..

It's going to be one-sided in my opinion. Cleverly should be moving forward with his win over Oakey, not backwards.

Agreed. Its not the best FFN but at least we're not getting Cleverly vs the tough Ghanian - Tobean Nounced.

How can it be interesting when there's odds of 1/33 flying around for a Cleverly win? It's an okay support fight, but to have it headlining on television is daylight robbery. It's almost certainly going to be one-sided.

I don't have a huge interest in the fight myself. I'll only be watching it because il be betting on it as i am watching it. I agree that it's not the most scintillating of bouts.

I am more annoyed that Cleverly seems to be going backwards. I hope his fight with McIntosh isn't off.

There fighting on July 19th so it looks like the Boyle match is some kinda warm up for McIntosh!! I don't believe in looking past fighters and I hope Cleverly ain't looked past Boyle!! Let's not forget this is Billy Boyle's world title fight I feel..He'll give it everything and Cleverly still has questions to answer over resistance..

To be fair I think this fight was hastily arranged as a FFN as it was originally supposed to be Kell Brook Vs Young Mutley but both pulled out. Atleast its not Cleverly Vs Afrobum eh. I go with Cleverly UD.

I think this is a good choice of oponent for Cleverly, he's just finished with two african fighters who didnt offer anything in the ring. Boyle has a positive record with a decent knockout ratio, yes they were against journeymen but they were still stoppages none the less. Cleverly took some punches against Oakey but nothing significant. The hope for the Cleverly camp is that Nathan gets tagged a few times with decent shots so that he can test his punch resistance I imagine it will be fine, looking back that he sparred with Calzaghe and Macrinelli who both had enough power to stop/worry most of there oponents.

Good fight choice against an mid level british level boxer (on paper)

Boyle is an ex-Parachute Regiment soldier so he'll be extremely fit and he'll come to fight, but I gotta pick Cleverley for this one. Any decent odds for this one?
