Alex MATVIENKO
Just want to say congratulations to Alex MATVIENKO for winning the British Middleweight Masters title. Another war but the correct decision this time. Well done mate. Johnny Musgrove gave it everything too.

well done Matko
Re: Alex MATVIENKO
Some of those opponents are terrible.
Steve Wood seems like a decent guy but he needs to test his fighters a bit more.

Johnny Musgrave is as game as they come and a credit to boxing.davidas wrote:Just want to say congratulations to Alex MATVIENKO for winning the British Middleweight Masters title. Another war but the correct decision this time. Well done mate. Johnny Musgrove gave it everything too.
he is also as far as i am aware not really a middleweight or certainly a small one, having gone life and death with Newark welter Andrew Lowe I think 2 or even 3 times.

It was those pesky 2-min rounds mate, you're a 'three minutes of every round' type of guy

Gutted to have missed it, hope you are out again soon. See that Jenno was in with that man Ambler how did he fare against him?
Re: Alex MATVIENKO
Yeah he caught him with a left hook I think. Ambler was complaining it was a slip, but the punch definately connected albeit catching Ambler slightly off balance. He needed that knockdown to win the fight.
That Kieron Farrell looks a really good little prospect. Very aggressive and entertaining.
Rick Goddings wasted hardly any punches and was as accurate as ever and movement was good. And Trevor Crewe is alot of fun to watch, very explosive when he goes for it!!!
Was a good show, I know people knocking opponents but come on! the fighters in there had under 10 fights and fighting and learning from experienced journey men who made each fight entertaining. I know Goddings opponent pulled out at the 11th hour and was only Farrells 3rd fight? Trevor Crewes debut and Chris Johnson and two-smokes kays getting back on track after recent slip ups!
Definately Matt's (Alex) day tho. Well deserved. I also thought the venue was good at the Reebok!

Re: Alex MATVIENKO
and I agree with the ref comment - He was excellent all night and deserves credit for keeping the fight flowing and giving the boxers ample opportunity to fight their way out when close. Well Done Ref!!

Well done Mat, you showed proper slick boxing skills. No shots were wasted and you stepped it up as he was tiring towards the end. The hard graft you put in paid off pal, train hard fight easy eh! Proud to train in the same gym as you and appreciate the advice you give me.
