Re: Will Khan beat Kotelnik?
I think as soon as Kahn gets a flurry of 10-15 unanswered punches, even if Kotelnik is not hurt, it will be stopped

Re: Will Khan beat Kotelnik?
I hope so as I am a genuine Khan fan, you hear the odd stories but personally I find him a humble enough lad and a decent, very promising, young British boxer who has the potential to go all the way.
A year or 2 ago this fight would have been too much but he's a bit seasoned now and if he sticks to the game plan which I would imagine would be to box Kot's head off, and does as Fred tells him, then Khan can outwork and outscore his opponent, with an outside chance of scoring a late rounds RSF.
I've actually gone for a Khan KO today.........last week and in fact since it was announced, I think I'd been leaning towards Kot on points.

Re: Will Khan beat Kotelnik?
khan has shown nothing to suggest he can beat a division top ten fighter in his prime. Kotelnik by KO. At first i thought late stoppage, but I don't think Khan can last that long without taking anything.
I'm going to say Kotelnik by some kind of stoppage, round 6.

Re: Will Khan beat Kotelnik?
Kotelnik hides behind the guard and waits for Khan to (a) get tired or (b) make a mistake. if (a) comes first, Kotelnik walks Khan down and gradually applies pressure before (b) Khan makes a mistake under pressure. whenever (b) happens Khan gets KTFO I'm afraid. he'll get weakened and hurt by solid little bodyshots by the biggest strongest man he's shared a ring with for longer than 50 seconds, his hands will fall, his chin will be exposed, and bye bye Amir.
tho i must say i'm in a kind of win-win situation, if Kotelnik wins my prediction is validated, if khan wins then a fighter I basically like gets a world strap.

Re: Will Khan beat Kotelnik?
I see it going either 2 ways 1) Khan overwealms him with his speed early on and Kotelnik doesnt reply with around 15 unanswered punches and the ref stops in but Kotelnik is hurt 2) Kotelnik has far to much ring craft for him and takes Khans confidence away and KO's him mid/late Khan doesnt know how to deal with the fact that Kotelnik is not stopping when he throws his punches that lack power IMO

speed is power, Khan can crack and he is stronger than the boy that initially turned pro.
also...to those that think Kotelnik is going to simply wait til Khan makes a mistake then pummel him...didn't he take like, 11 or 12 rounds to pummel Gavin Rees??
Re: Will Khan beat Kotelnik?
I am not very good at predictions, but I think Khan will win. I don't really think that much of Kotelnik.

Re: Will Khan beat Kotelnik?
Kotelinik has a good chin and not great power but i was saying that when Khan makes a mistake Kotelnik wont KO him straight away but simply catch him and then slowly wear him down and KO him in the mid to late rounds by taking away his confidenceNorthEastBoxingFan wrote:alexpaterson wrote:Khan doesnt know how to deal with the fact that Kotelnik is not stopping when he throws his punches that lack power IMO

Re: Will Khan beat Kotelnik?
I anticipate a close fight, with Khan boxing cautiously. I predict he will be faster to the punch than the more experienced Kotelnik and also more fleet of foot. If there is to be a stoppage I think it is more likely to come in Khan's favour and with reference to ref Paris I think if he's in charge Kot's going to have to make sure he doesn't let Khan give him a perfect opportunity to stop it as there is a real possibility, as someone else said, of Kot getting stopped, on his feet, unhurt while soaking up one of Khan's little flurries.alexpaterson wrote:Kotelinik has a good chin and not great power but i was saying that when Khan makes a mistake Kotelnik wont KO him straight away but simply catch him and then slowly wear him down and KO him in the mid to late rounds by taking away his confidenceNorthEastBoxingFan wrote:alexpaterson wrote:Khan doesnt know how to deal with the fact that Kotelnik is not stopping when he throws his punches that lack power IMO

Re: Will Khan beat Kotelnik?
No. Khan will get sparked.
Re: Will Khan beat Kotelnik?
i think kahn will basically win the first 6 rounds comfortably and the second half of the fight will consist of kotelnik coming out of his shell, pressurising but kahn surviving a few sticky moments to win a lopsided decision

Re: Will Khan beat Kotelnik?
This is not a "poop" fight, he is fighting for the WBA title against a top 10 ranked fighter. It is a 50-50 fight with a good undercard.whitey220783 wrote:no i like decent people not flash people khan is not successful he made loads of money fighting nobody who as he fought bums when he beats presscot il give him respect untill then you keep paying 15 pound to watch poop fights
Re: Will Khan beat Kotelnik?
i think the fact that kahn has been hyped so much and also his dubious chin adds to the appeal of the fight. im looking forward to it

Re: Will Khan beat Kotelnik?
Khan's hand speed will be too much for Kotelnik and he will be stopped around the 6th round
Re: Will Khan beat Kotelnik?
I am thinking Khan by TKO rather than KO. The flurries, the movement and the desire not to mix it up (i.e Roach urging him to use his boxing skills) will see the ref jump in some time around the 9th.
Re: Will Khan beat Kotelnik?
Khan to win a 4-6 point decision IMO with a scare or 2 along the way
Re: Will Khan beat Kotelnik?
X2 and khan will be given every chance unless we get a decent reff in i vote tony weeks he usualy does a decent jobthe patriot wrote:I think as soon as Kahn gets a flurry of 10-15 unanswered punches, even if Kotelnik is not hurt, it will be stopped![]()
