Is Dave Parris going to ref Khan vs Kotelnik??

If so, I'll be putting some money on Khan. Parris is a bent ref and will do what is required to get Khan the win. He did a great job in the Barrera fight.

Kotelnik backers might want to hang on and find out if Parris is the ref or not.

It will make a huge difference in terms of the fairness of the fight. If I was Kotelnik, I'd be adamant about Parris not being given the job. I'm going to try to email Kotelniks people...

In that instance, surely the doctor was at fault for not advising the referee to stop the fight?

Parris knew what he was doing. He kept Barrera away from the doctor for a few rounds and then presented him to the doctor when he knew Khan would win on points. A blind man could see that the cut should have stopped the fight immediately as Barerra couldn't see properly.

I did the same myself. I'm sure they are aware but it won't hurt to reinforce it, especially from British boxing fans.

If Parris gets the job, Khan wins. I wonder what Parris would have done in the Prescott fight. Maybe warn Prescott for not moving to the neutral corner fast enough and for attempting to hit Khan as he was on the way to the floor. Than Khan would have been given a LONG count and extra time to recover as Parris repeatedly asks him is he OK.

I would have loved to have seen Parris reaction when Prescott dropped Khan again and Khan is clearly gone!

That reminds me. Terry O'Connor gave Khan more than the benefit of doubt against Prescott. I hope he's not the ref either.

Problem is, I don't think Kotelnik has much of a choice. Khan is the cash cow and its Warrens show so the deck will be well and truely stacked against Kotelnik in every possible way.

I don't think we will see a British ref for this fight, I presume a European ref will be the WBA's choice.

For Bernard Dunne's fight against Cordoba, it was an American ref.

I totally agree, Khan would not have got the win without the help of Dave Parris. I would use the term biased rather than bent but its a fact Khan does get favours from British refs. If its for a World title then the ref should come from an independant country.

I don't understand why this isn't a mandatory requirement, refs(and judges) should not be from the same nations as the fighters.

the doctor does not require permission to examine a fighter between rounds.

Everyone at the show (doctors, refs etc) knows who pays the bills.....

Barrera was an utter farce...

go back to the Hatton/Thaxton/Rowlands fights too for more of the same!!!!
