JOE CALZAGHE IS RETIRED

Mc Closkey should be higher, Skelton loses to Rogan and is ahead of him WTF, Elcock shouldn't be in it, Murray should be in the top 20. Cook, Arthur, Maccarinelli should be lower

everyone says the same every month . hes already pointed out that calzaghe isnt yet considered inactive until he has fought for a year , until that time theres always a possible come back however unlikely . theres rules for the way he qualifies them .

If Horse ever doesn't post his P4P list in the first couple of hours of the first of the month should we all assume the worst?

I reckon Dunne should be above Witter and Woods for the moment.
Still no Ola Afolabi?
How is Skelton above Rogan? It was only a couple of months ago that he beat him?
I think John Murray has to be reckoned to be in the 30 best fighters in the country, certainly above the likes of Duddy? Do you think Rees would beat him if they fought?

i agree with that one

also, im with Horse on the JC front, i give him a few more months yet before he is removed, if for only one reason that our top 30 looks mega shit without him

These lists get worse.......

The top 6 or 7 are ok, but then it goes down hill from there. Ryan Rhodes should be higher, so should Gavin Rees.

I could go on, put i'd need to write a long essay and it's too hot

I know, but he is still an active fighter.
brian13 wrote:Mc Closkey should be higher, Skelton loses to Rogan and is ahead of him WTF,
McCloskey probably should be higher, but I will have to wait until his next fight to change his position.

I do not rate Sexton very highly so I didn't want him very high in my list, but he had to be above Rogan after beating him, so I dropped Rogan below Skelton and put Sexton one place above Rogan.
brian13 wrote:Elcock shouldn't be in it, Murray should be in the top 20.
Elock has only recently lost his British title and he will probably drop out in next month's list. Murray will re-enter the list if he beats Lawton this month. I think a top 20 place would be a bit too generous though at this stage in his career.
brian13 wrote:Cook, Arthur, Maccarinelli should be lower
These fighters are all ranked as top 15 fighters in the world in their divisions. Few boxers below them in the list are close to being in a position like that.

A lot of fighters comeback from retirement, so I like to wait a few months before taking a retired fighter out.

Froch at number 2 Mitchell ahead of Khan and Barker a wee bit higher and Murray should definetly be in

Duddy fell quite a few places after his loss and he does have some decent wins. I think his place is reasonable for now.

McCloskey will rise considerably if he beats M'baye for the European title.

Sometimes I do it later in the day. I believe I have posted the list a few days late twice, I will try not to do that again.
Lenny wrote:I reckon Dunne should be above Witter and Woods for the moment.
I believe Witter and Woods's recent reigns as world champions are enough to keep them above Dunne for now. If they lose their upcoming world title fights or Dunne makes a successful defence of his title then that will change.
Lenny wrote:Still no Ola Afolabi?
I will reconsider his status after his next fight.
Lenny wrote:How is Skelton above Rogan? It was only a couple of months ago that he beat him?
Rogan lost to Sexton, which was a poor result, so he had to move down. Skelton has not lost to the likes of Sexton.

Murray fell out because of inactivity. Murray will re-enter, quite possibly above Duddy, if he beats Lawton this month. I would favour Murray if he fought Rees, although I would give Rees a decent chance.

No, but he did get knocked out by Rogan.

I think there's nothing wrong with it, and it will be proven when Haye is flattened this month.

Hatton is much more proven at world level than Froch. Hatton's loss to Pacquiao was devastating, but it was a loss against the P4P number 1. A win for Froch against Bute would probably be enough to overtake Hatton.

Yes, that is a good point. Without Calzaghe the list is far weaker than it was a year or so ago.

Who would you have immediately after my OK top 7 instead of these guys?

A few people have said that Rees is too high or shouldn't even be in the list. Rees hasn't fought for over a year and his only big win, M'baye, doesn't look as impressive any more after Barrie Jones almost beat him as well.

Rhodes pulled out of a fight with Small that would have seen him climb a good number of places. Instead he chose to drop his British title and fight some journeyman and he now has the intention of going the "EU title route". Rhodes will continue to fall until he fights someone decent like the EU champion.

I think Froch needs to prove himself a little bit more before he moves above Hatton. Mitchell has been too inactive recently and his comeback opponent was just a journeyman.

Barker was very impressive against McDermott, but I didn't want to raise him up too many places as McDermott is only an English title level fighter. I think Murray should be in too, but he doesn't fight regularly enough to stay in the list.
