Pac Vs Mosley verbally agreed

Post by Cannibal »

http://www.411mania.com/boxing/news/106 ... Mosely.htm

It is time for the single biggest boxing event since Holyfield vs. Tyson. Manny Pacquiao has agreed to meet WBA Welterweight Champion "Sugar" Shane Mosley in a mega-fight at a yet to be decided catch weight.

In an interview today with Filipino news organization GMA News, Manny Pacquiao agreed to Mosley's dare to meet in the ring. "No problem, we can fight. As long we negotiate," Pacquiao said from his hometown, General Santos City.

Mosley countered, "Now that Manny has stated that he is ready to fight me, the only thing left to finish are negotiations. Richard Schaefer and Bob Arum are working out the details now. I will be ready to fight Pacquiao on October 17th."

Mosley has agreed to a 40-60 split and is willing to fight at a catch weight to meet Pacquiao in the ring signifying that he knows two things, a) that this fight will make a killing and b) that this is more about proving who is the best fighter than it is about making money.

Mosley last faced Antonio Margarito in January 2009 and delivered a ninth-round knockout. Pacquiao is coming off a second-round knock-out victory over Ricky Hatton in May.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

This is how you do it Floyd. If you want the P4P crown, then you fight the best available. Pac has never ducked anyone and is always more than willing to put his reputation on the line.

Floyd fought Oscar who beat Mosley the second time clearly, at 154 no less.

Floyd is fighting JMM who beat Pacman twice.

IF its at catchweight obviously mosleys title wont be on the line, shame that id like to see pac make history by becoming a world title holder at yet another weight.

Great fight though if it happens

if its still in the limit of the divison then it can still be on the title but it wouldnt if say 139 or 148 as thats either side of the welter divison but if the contract weight is 143 for example they are still in welter limit and able to fight for the title thats on the line

I'm suprised by this but I still don't think it will happen, it won't make the money a Mayweather fight would, its very dangerous and Pacquaio will want a much bigger share than 60% plus expect a big WW like Mosley to go down to 143, which Shane won't want to do.

If it happens though it will be an amazing fight, if Mosley isn't drained I fancy his size to be the difference

Broadly agree, with the proviso that I expect Mosley's power to be the thing.

Easily the hardest one-shot hitter that Pac-man has faced, with the speed/talent to land on him as well.

Mosley goes down to what is now called "Mannyweight", as Oscar did. Mosley will be old, weight drained shell, and get a working over as well.

I go for Pacquiao if its at 143. I don't think Mosley can do that weight comfortably. I think Mosley, whilst he looked amazing vs Margarito - he did benefit from having a slow opponent.

i agree with autobarn,if mosley boils down to anything below 145 he ll go the same way as oscar did. even though mosley is an exceptional specimen weight draining at his advaned age in boxin g terms will prove to be a disaster for him

anything at 147 or above, manny gets knocked out

verbal agreement?

i hope they brought an interpreter

GBP - "manny, we'd like to put on you vs mosley, at mannyweight. you'll beat down another withered, shrunken old husk and we'll all make some good money"

Manny - "I, ahh..."

GBP - excellent, we'll hold you to it

Manny - "I, ahh..."

freddie roach says it's not happening
