Re: Walsh brothers cleared of attack
I have a feeling trouble is going to follow them around like a bad smell.
Re: Walsh brothers cleared of attack
If that guy had come into my house un-invited and scared my mum he would not of walked out of there a live.
Re: Walsh brothers cleared of attack
Sounds like an open and shut case, in fairness folk shouldn't judge untill the full facts are known
Re: Walsh brothers cleared of attack
I don't understand why it took 3 of them
Re: Walsh brothers cleared of attack
Yeah, exactly. It does appear to stretch the bounds of "reasonableness".NorthEastBoxingFan wrote:I don't understand why it took 3 of them

If you had some fella having a pop at your mum after bargeing into her house would you stand back whether you had brothers there or not?
Re: Walsh brothers cleared of attack
They are only small guys, the biggest of them is only 5' 7". Why should they give an invader into their home a "fair fight"?liamlion wrote:Yeah, exactly. It does appear to stretch the bounds of "reasonableness".NorthEastBoxingFan wrote:I don't understand why it took 3 of them
Re: Walsh brothers cleared of attack
no obviously but I thought one would have been sufficient if they all box and the geezer is old enough to have a stepson of their own age. They'd get ineach others way surely.Coco wrote:NorthEastBoxingFan wrote:I don't understand why it took 3 of them

Why am I even speculating FFS??
2 hours is very short time for a jury in my experience of things I've read......they usually take about 6 hours over spilt milk.
Re: Walsh brothers cleared of attack
Regardless of the moral issue, the legal point is that you are allowed to act reasonably in all the circumstances when defending yourself or another (which clearly the jury felt that these boys did).Horse wrote:They are only small guys, the biggest of them is only 5' 7". In law, someone breaking into your house doesnt excuse you doing whatever you want to that person.
The jury in this case would have been directed by the Judge to consider whether they deemed the actions of the Walsh brothers (whatever that was) to have been reasonable in all the circumstances (e.g. they acted lawfully). But the point i was touching on is that the more people that use force against one person, whether he is an intruder or not, will generally make it difficult for the "reasonable force" defence to be successfully argued.

They were found not to be guilty, so why do you want to imply that they have done something wrong?liamlion wrote:Regardless of the moral issue, the legal point is that you are allowed to act reasonably in all the circumstances when defending yourself or another (which clearly the jury felt that these boys did).

Not at all. Merely picking up on a point already made and making the observation that three boxers causing really serious injury to a lone man and being acquitted is a cracking result.Horse wrote:They were found not to be guilty, so why do you want to imply that they have done something wrong?liamlion wrote:Regardless of the moral issue, the legal point is that you are allowed to act reasonably in all the circumstances when defending yourself or another (which clearly the jury felt that these boys did).

3 one 1 might sound a little unfair but look at it this way, each of them is of size and weight average to that of a 14-16YO lad. So that 3 14YO guy defending their mother rfom a grown man,. Who shouldn't have been in their house anyway.
I understand that boxers and trained martial artists come in for more grief in these sorts of cases than ordinary guys, but hey there will be guys out there who look after themselves and are fit and fairly handy with thier fists without ever stepping in to a class of any sort. (probably boxing better than some of the Walshes
)
I am not keen on the "he's a boxer and shouldn't lift his fist" attitude either. So what they are trained, they took time and efforrt to hone their skills, what do the others do ? house break ? I am in favour of a US type rule/law break in to house and your fair game, I've /my family have worked for it you aint gonna stroll in and take it without a fight.
Good luck to the guys, hope they can get back on track again now.

they're on weights and heavy bags several times a week. They're each as strong as 2 or 3 14-16 year old boys IMO.Gareth wrote:3 one 1 might sound a little unfair but look at it this way, each of them is of size and weight average to that of a 14-16YO lad. I'm not going into whether what they did was right or wrong because like the man Spud never says, I know jack sh*t about the situation anyway!! And you should always look after your mum. They were tried and acquitted by a jury end of. I don't know what happened to the guy they had a go at anyway.
I'll try to catch them next time out, just to see if I was completely wrong about them the first time, but being a Khan fan who went to the Barrera fight, I was not pleased when I found out today that they were on the bill at the O2. Or rather, I was, as I can't go anyway.

Re: Walsh brothers cleared of attack
Well they have been found innocent, so now they can concentrate on the boxing.
Liam looks the best of the lot for me.

Re: Walsh brothers cleared of attack
I just love this quote from the article:
"The court was told that Mr Brammall had gone to Walsh's home because he had heard rumours that Liam had been having a relationship with a girl who had been out with Mr Brammall's stepson."
In other words Brammall is a member of the tribal underclass who went round their house in order to sort a family feud out and came off worse.
Something tells me there is going to be a part 2 to this story.

Dead right , he knew them he knew they were boxers , so he fancied his chances , even if they were not home , he would know if he goes round barging into there mothers house scaring her there would be retribution .
Regarding force on home invaders , it was 1980 fack i'm getting old
NO
, around 2-3 am in bed, front glass in door goes in , 2 guys barge in i meet them has there running up the stairs , hit the first one he's out cold , me and the other end up battling in the hallway, with real bad intentions , imagine it my wifes screaming, kids on top off the stairs screaming the first one gets up and runs away, i basicly lose it with the second one and hurt him fairly bad , , when i've finished with him run out after the second , he's running up the road, but who is stood there probably guessed it, the thug i banged in the pub , i completly lose it knowing he has put his mates up to it , he runs i chase him , naked i may add , police interupt they were there real quick neighbors called them , cops drag me off this guy ,
End result the one in the house is hurt bad , goes to hospital i am charged, with gbh, but charges dropped, and he was never charged with anything , the one in the street , who it turns out was there cousin, he had gone to get themto extract his revenge , he cry's like a baby wants me charged judge , says to me after listening to the reasons ect , the fact still remains because he never came in the door , i am still guilty off assualt and therefore should be punished . fined me 150 quid no conviction recorded .
BEST FACKING HUNDRED AND FIFTY QUID I EVER SPENT , any one who goes to someones house where's theres a wife and kids to scare, deserves a facking 10 year non parole sentence , until you been in that position you don't know . Just imagine it wife screaming 3 little kids screaming , next day little kids watching mom and dad , sweeping broken glass and washing blood off the walls . Not nice , my missis still shudders at the thought off it, and i still wish i had killed the 3 off them . THE PRICK GOT WHAT HE DESERVED AND SHOULD OFF GOT MORE.
Re: Walsh brothers cleared of attack
Guilty or not, I hate the Walsh brohters, look at the pic, bunch of chav hangin wankers. If theyve been found not guilty in this case then u have to believe that for what it's worth. I'm sure it wont be the last troublesome episode we hear from these fuckers.
Re: Walsh brothers cleared of attack
Actually i agree with you regarding them , in fact there whole demeanor , and the way they act reminds me off the 3 thugs i just posted about , But thugs or not ANyone who goes to someone els's house and barges in deserves all they get .TheCobra wrote:Guilty or not, I hate the Walsh brohters, look at the pic, bunch of chav hangin wankers.
