Fights to ignite boxing
Let's face it, boxing needs some big fights like never before, it's desperate times. Even I'm losing interest right now, after being a 30 year fan boy. There's just NOTHING out there right now.
The big fights we really need ASAP
Haye v Vitali/Wlad
Froch v Pavlic
Manny v Valero
Khan v Hatton - why not, fireworks guaranteed...
We might even see some of these very rarely made fights, as the TV money drops off and frantic promoters are forced to offer up the very best....we can dream eh

More like a fight to finish off boxing for good.hurlock wrote:
klitschko v klitschko
Cotto v Floyd in NY or PR.
Vic Darch v Manny Pac in Oz or the country that Manny owns.
Re: Fights to ignite boxing
Froch v Bute or/and Kessler would be potential classics.
Victor Ortiz is one to watch at 140 and potentially good fights against Bradley, Holt and Torres could be around the corner.

To be honest mate - I am more worried about the British scene - TV drying up and all that - and thus your thread is a good one if the money can be found to make the fights.MightyWarrior wrote:Let's face it, boxing needs some big fights like never before, it's desperate times. Winner to have a pop at Hatton - why not? - although I think Hatton is a massive favourite.
Froch versus any world class fighter.
Haye v Wladimir - but not Haye against Vitali - I have the view that Vitali will make short work of David where my opinion is the other way around if Dave went in against Wladimir.
I also would love the British Promoters to eat some humble pie and get some block buster or at worst some good domestic clashes on - the time for inter promoter rivalry is gone - british boxing needs some good fights.

for once I agree. but I think haye also realizes that he hasn't a hope in hell of beating Vitali. Wlad is beatable thoughSpud wrote: Haye v Wladimir - but not Haye against Vitali - I have the view that Vitali will make short work of David where my open is the other way around if Dave went in against Wladimir.

Witter V Hatton. 5 years too late, but who cares?
Pacquiao V Mayweather. $50M fight if ever I've seen one.
Arreola vs. Haye. Gotta happen.
Adamek against a top heavy.
Froch V Kessler

It would create plenty interest from people with an IQ below 60 & Sun readers! Once the none event had taken place they would go about their every day lives thinking Mike Tyson was the greatest fighter who ever lived.hurlock wrote:shut up u plonker that would create a frenzy & intrest all over & outside of boxing!!

A Manny-Cotto fight is much more appealing than a Mayweather match-up, either way they both have the same outcome.kidneypunch wrote:manny vs mayweather

Honestly you can't seriously think watching Klit on Klit could be remotely interesting unless it was on redtube.hurlock wrote:well that's alot of people, including yourselfHagler2002 wrote:It would create plenty interest from people with an IQ below 60 & Sun readers! Re: Fights to ignite boxing
In what way would that ignite boxing? A fighter who hasn't laced the gloves up for six years and is deservedly getting inducted into the hall of fame against a bitter, sicknote who has spent the last four years trying to comeback from an injury and boring us with his obsession with Lewis.gobbles wrote:Klitschko v Lewis
