Hall V Small build up.

Post by whicker »

Good bit of build up- http://www.allegedly.tv/drill/News/Ar ... ff123.html We need more of these kind of pro-wrestling style "characters" in boxing.

press conferences and trash talk always get me up for fights, it's always a good laugh to watch and especially when you've got someone like Anthony Small.

Should be a great fight though and hopefully Hall will win.

Should be a good 'un if only for their opposite styles. Matty's built a bit of a following with his head down all-in style. The crowd will lap this up, ideal u/card warmer-upper..

I'd like to see Hall do a number on him to be honest. For a variety of reasons I've never been able to take to Small.

I can see Hall stopping Small. I thought Hall would stop Pryce and every fight I see him in he seems to be improving.

Not a chance, Small dont have the power and yes Concepcion did it but Hall is a completely different fighter now who has an excellent chin.

I have noticed that Hall's head movement and bobbing and weaving has been excellent in his last few fights. Moves him upper body into excellent positions to attack. I'm not sure he was so good at it in the past.

Based on what? What makes Hall's chin 'excellent' and Concepcion 'powerful'? I think Small will be too clever for Hall and Small has underrated power IMO. Hall's not elusive and he was all over the place when Concepcion landed cleanly. Hall may have chewed up a weight weakened Bradley Pryce impressively but I'm still not convinced about him.

IF Hall can catch him on the chin with his left hook, Small is going for a nap. That said, I have a sneaking suspicion that small will be a little too tricky for Hall - its an intruiging fight.

I've always found Small just as arrogant outside the ring as in it.
Maybe its because I've got a Northern accent.
My worry for Matty is that he is a small (excuse the pun) light middle.
Small is rangey.
That said, I worry for Small because I know who the Promotor wants to win.
Sorry to sound controversial, but whilst this goes against all of my better instincts, I have a feeling for a distance fight - Small to be ahead on the cards, and Matty to get the nod.

mate as the earlier poster said the one thing you can guarantee about M Concepcion is he can BANG

i still say Hall KTFO's small here sometime, though he may get cut-up and outdone for athelticism/ range etc beforehand

Small scores well in tangibles but less so on intengibles, and i think Small's beard vs Hall's left hook is a bad matchup for Small.

Hall wins by the 8th IMO

I don't know about Hall's chin either but there is no doubt that Concepcion is a knockout artist although his whiskers are shocking. He was even wobbled when Hall was all over the place. Hard one to pick Small v Hall. Longer it goes, the more I go with Hall.

We'll have to wait and see. I'll concede that Small does unravel as demonstrated vs Walter Wright and Bradley Pryce. If Hall is still there after 4 or 5 rounds then Small could be there for the taking. It's a really intriguing fight this.
