Ray Wheatley has this going
IBF #3, WBC #7, WBO #13 Sakio Bika is all set to defend the IBO super middleweight title against former WBA super middleweight champion Anthony Mundine. Bika’s trainer David Birchell said the Mundine camp is interested in challenging Bika.”You have to give Mundine credit because he is willing to take the fight against Sakio,” Birchell said. Bika commented, “The Mundine camp is looking for ‘Choc’ to fight the best fighters in Australia and the world, so he is willing to take the bout. The only stumbling block now is the people in America who run The Contender. I am so happy to think it could happen. To beat Mundine would make me a real hero [in Australia]. If I could fight Mundine it would help me build my name here. It could help more people get behind me. It would be huge.”
Cameroon-born Bika has established his name internationally. Bika gave Joe Calzaghe one of his toughest fights taking him the full twelve rounds. “It was a great compliment but once Joe said that it also made Sakio someone the top fighters wouldn’t take on,” Birchell said. “We are hoping we get the green light from the US for him to get his shot against Mundine. It would be a great bout.”
Mundine captured the IBO middleweight title when he was awarded a disputed split decision against Daniel Geale in Brisbane on May 27 and has showed no interest in a rematch with the Grange gym IBF #9 middleweight Geale.
Bika’s manager is Jeff Wald of the Contender series who holds the reigns of the 168 pounder’s career until 2012.

Re: Bika-Mundine in the works
That would be a very good fight for both parties it would be good for Australian boxing I would favour Mundine but it could go either way Bika is a tough tough fighter
Re: Bika-Mundine in the works
Does this mean that Choc has decided he is not really a middleweight after all?
Re: Bika-Mundine in the works
He wants to fight at Super middle again? Has Kessler retired???
Re: Bika-Mundine in the works
IF it happens will Bika get a fight in before Mundine?
Re: Bika-Mundine in the works
I just don't see it happening.
Re: Bika-Mundine in the works
Bika is scheduled to fight on the last card of the superboxa series in July.
