Syracuse-- March 28, 1981---Sugar Ray Leonard clearly using a WBC welterweight title defense as a training exercise for future fights, stopped Larry Bonds in the 10th round tonight at the Carrier Dome.
Referee Arthur Mercante stopped the one-sided contest at 2:22 of the 10th after Leonard had scored his second knockdown.
