Started my Boxing site
Started my Boxing site
Hey guys,
I started a new site called "Legends of Pugilism".
http://pugilism.cjb.net/
http://legendsofpugilism.cjb.net
Sorry for the slow loading(especially for only 360kb). I did my best to reduce the images/illustrations and flash movie as much as possible.
What do you think? If you have any suggestions besides "don't use flash" feel free to let me know.

Try as I might, I couldn't open the site, and I tried both URL's.
I'm pulling for you because I know what labor of love it is. My partner and myself are about to launch one as well.

fight site
No luck, Lopman. It loads, and loads and loads and then the screen goes black. I've been having tons of computer problems so perhaps the glitch is at my end.Lopman wrote:Try it again. Have you seen the "click here to enter" screen?
Well after you click it the loadscreen takes a few seconds to show up.

site problem
I have Internet Explorer and I can click on the URL, and when I get to the site and click on "enter," it loads for what seems like an eternity and then just goes black.Lopman wrote:Hey I've tested it on Mozilla and Internet Explorer. Are you using Opera?
You HAVE seen the first page, right? The one that says "click here to enter"?

new site
Finally, with the help of my wife, I was able open your site. Much good luck with it. The first few capsule summaries of Robinson, Louis and Pep couldn't have been better choices for me. They're among my favorites.Lopman wrote:http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer/
I'll be looking in on your site.

The thing about the collections of dots is it's the same collection of dots for every page. I made a collection of ten dots pointing to the respective frame in the _parent layer. When I'm making a new section I just make a new layer and drag the dots-collection symbol on to it. I did this to save space and loading time and my time doing stuff in Flash.
You are right though. I suppose I could do it for the fights though, you are right.
Actually I'm now looking for a better, FASTER host. I've just found out these bastards at http://www.freewebz.com/ say "no ad banners, no popup ads!" but they make you put a text link, "hosted by freewebz" at the bottom.
Hey I'm glad you like the site. When you put up your site I'll link to it.

Sorry I took so long, I've not been updating it and haven't gotten around to it until yesterday. I fixed that, now there is a list of fights.Jeffsboxing wrote:great work, though loading time is the problem, as you said. It's fantastic to find you make the web in b/w. For the links from one fight to another fights, can you show the clear links instead of dots?
