Muhammad Ali's Record is Wrong!

Post by Jack1000 »

Hi!

First post and glad to be aboard! Please check your information for Spinks-Ali I. You have Mills Lane working that fight. The coorect ref for that fight should be Davey Pearl.

Also, why aren't even rounds listed for the results of either Ali-Norton I or II, which both took place in California? One result shows a 5-4 card and the other a 6-5 card. Yet, both bouts went the full 12 rounds.

Did the California Atheltic Commission just not announce rounds that judges saw as even during that time?

One other minor note. You have Spinks being stripped for giving Ali a rematch instead of fighting the WBC mandate against Norton, which is correct. But you have this information listed in the first fight (Spinks-Ali I) which was for the undisputed crown. You need to move your note about the stripping of the WBC title from Spinks to fight #2.

The usual policy is to put strippings, vacatings, and other legal ranglings in the bout preceding what transpired.
