William Kickett vs Adrian Broner fight.

Post by Hounddawg »

Just finished watching Kickett vs Broner on youtube and thought i would post it for others, good fight.

I thought Kickett was ahead before getting dropped in the 5th, some positives to take out of the fight.

Another factor in this fight was that Willie was the slower puncher.

What are peoples thoughts on Kicketts next move?

Well it looks like everyone's gone quiet on Cool Willie, i swear it's a decent fight....take a look :box:

I hope a rematch between him and Elomah happens, that would do him the world of confidence.

I actually thought a fight between Willie Kickett and Davey Browne had appeal.

I know Willie has campaigned at Lightweight, however I couldn't see getting down to Super-Featherweight posing him too many problems and god knows looking at Davey Browne and how tall he is, I would have thought Super-Featherweight does him all the favours in the world.

Davey, whilst beaten by Billy Dib in a great fight back in March is a tough customer and to be frank, I thought he looked spent at the scales so increasing in weight would compliment his frame and with all the wraps that have been Willie's way since he hit the scene, I would think he'd be confident of his chances against Davey?

Craig Christian was adamant after Willie's defeat that Willie was suffering some of the virus that swept through his camp and namely his star pupil, Chris John so after a nice little break, I would have thought Craig would see Davey as a great return bout for Willie.

Davey won't go away and he'll keep coming at Willie all fight, so the styles I feel work to make it a good match-up.

Willie is in a spot.

His chin is obviously so so and his defence can be leaky. Not a good mix unfortunately for cool Willie.

If you don't have a chin you need almost perfect defence, unless he fixes the chinks in his armour i don't think he will make it

I posted on the current scene after the fight that his chin will let him down, you can't train a chin, so your best bet is to be perfectly sound defensively.

I think to get people talking again the Elomar fight is perfect, and i really believe he beats Elomar this time!

As youvé all seen with this thread, the talk of Willie has kind of dryed up, so redemption is the best bet.

How's the dance Broner did after he dropped Kickett, what a fuckin tosser. Kickett has a long way to go if he is going to become a decent fighter. The open defence he takes into his fights is a worry and will lead to easy KO's for his opponents until he does something about it.

Willie was holding his own up the end of the 5th round, then came the knock-down.

Bruno was on top during round 6 and pressing Willie who found that his reach was not helping him and started to look a bit tired. It was a very good shot by Bruno, who has an impressive upper body physique, that stopped Willie.

Where to from here for Willie? Tighten up the defence work first and fight a few of the better credential local fighters here second before venturing off-shore again.
