Is he still in a Spanish Jail? If so, will he get his licence back as he will have served his time then?

He won't get his license back as a formality.
Normally all outstanding charges have to be dealt with, either dropped or timed served(jail, community service, tag)
Then he will have to show the board he wants to fight, show he is clean of drink/drugs and be in a fit physical and mental shape.
Obviously all the bad publicity will make this harder, but having an influential promoter behind you oils the wheels of progress!

Sorry, but if a boxer uses his fists against his girlfriend (in addition to everything else he has done) then he should never be allowed to compete as a a boxer again.

Does anyone have a contact address for Scott - serious question before the resident comedians start.

If so, could you pm me please.

Thanks in advance.

I doubt we will ever see Harrison in a boxing ring again to be honest, he'll have been out way too long by the time he gets his license back.

dont know how accurate this is but i did hear that if he kept his head down, that he could be out by christmas/early new year. as i said, not sure how accurate this is.

as for the BBBofC, when he is released and is still wanting to box, then surely that if all time was served and no further charges to answer for then he should get his licence back

Tyson was probably set up. Ali may have used his religion as a reason not to fight in a pointless war that America could never win. Why bring them into it. Harrison is a serial bully, beating the sh1t out of people and deserves to be locked up. He needs to prove beyond reasonable doubt, he is clean of drugs, alcohol abuse, and is of sound mind. If I was on the board I would look at his application very closely.

Indeed Ali stood by his decision even at the risk of never fighting again rather than run the risk of being another statistic.

If I were a board member, I think i'd have serious reservations about granting him a license, he's hardly a credit to the sport is he? However, money usually talks in these situations, and if there's money to be made in him coming back, he will probably get a license.

Maybe prison will straighten Scott's mind out, who knows.

To be fair to Harrison, most of his problems were booze related. If being in a Spanish clink has helped him deal with his addiction, then it really was the best thing for him. If he comes out sober and can stay that way, then the board should relicense him. He's served his time. If he lets them down again then it can easily be taken off him. But he deserves a fresh start imo.

Depends how much booze is inside the nick doesnt it. If he's clean 100% of the time its a huge step to go back on t, but if he's drinking regular, even once twice a week, then its not such a big thing to back on it when he comes out.

You don't tend to get booze in nick, causes the guards more grief, makes the inmates troublesome, and of course bulky stuff is hard to smuggle in.

It is typical that people remember sporting stars for their genius ather than their domestic issues.
Will folk remember Gatti or Castillo as wife beaters? And there are plenty of fighter I could add to that list

What a stupid post! He hammered the living daylights out of several people and then gave a Spanish police officer a scalping blinding him in one eye. The bloke is a liability and should never get his license back, he has had more than one chance in life and fucked it up every time.
