If it has happened, and the contracts are signed, G0mez could confirm it.

I can't see this one as panning out to be true. Especially with Hennesey having guided Carl in this 6 man super tournament...

I would be totally and utterly stunned if Carl Froch were to ever leave "Meaty Mick" - Hennessy has done a bloody good job Froch and he would be nuts to leave him!!!

Another thing Hennessy and Froch are pals - there is no way Froch would sh*t on Hennessy - not a chance.

I agree it's probably crap - but wasn't this rumour started by someone working in the boxing community, and hardly hiding their identity ?
Why would you stick your neck out that far ?

Hi dudes, yep it was me who put that on East side.... heard it on the grape vine and while i'm very skeptical I thought it was interesting news and would be the perfect signing for Hatton promotions to get themselves on the map in a big way. They have some very good fighters now but having a fighter like Froch as the main man would be a great step forward for them. I've not heard anthing else about it thus far so its probably just a load of tosh but I made it clear on Eastside it was just something I had heard and probably wasn't going to be true.

Thanks

Jeff

That was mine too.... That was a bit of a lesson learned on my part I had been told that it was on so of course i'm going to share that information unless I'm told otherwise.

To even things out I reported Hatton leaving Graham, Khan leaving Harrison, Gomez signing to fight Khan, Gomez signing to fight Burns, The Prize fighter contestants, Brodies comeback, both Khans new trainers, Hattons new trainer and a good few others before anyone else so while i'm not perfect if your going to post something before its made official there are going to be times when errors occour. Unfortunately that error made the papers and Sky News. Thus the emphasis on RUMOUR re the Carl Froch/ Hatton connection.

And for the record I think Hennessey has done a great job with Froch. Froch is one of my favourite fighters and the only issue I can think of is pricing themselves out of having Taylor-Froch on TV live. Froch signing with Hatton seems incredibly unlikely but stranger things have happened in boxing.

I was banned for the Khan-Murray mistake on ESB but when I came back I told them I would no longer put any 'news' I got on there before it was made official and they have since encouraged me to do so....

Thanks

Jeff

Who could be signing to Hatton then? John Murray is likely. What happened to David Barnes?

When he's got two fights guaranteed why wouldn't he change promoter? It wouldn't make a difference to Froch if Hennesey- or Hatton promoted the events. That really has no bearing IMO. :TU:

The boxing rumour mill is a wonderful thing, and often the rumours started are fanciful - take this as an example.
However, the more little whispers I hear the more I'm beginning to think that Jeff is on to something here.
I think we all accept TV is vital to a boxer's earnings.
Has Hennessey secured anything for this tournament on UK TV ?
Not that I'm aware of.
If I'm wrong please put me right.
Now if Hennessey fail to deliver for the second time, maybe, just maybe, Carl will defect.

I can't see an alliance, Leforge.
Hatton is building his own stable, no need to Co Promote with anyone.
I think he's got 8 dates to fill for Sky - but there is big pressure on all Promotors from Sky that the billheader must be for a title - and by that they mean proper titles.

Sorry mate, what's patronising about the post ?
When Jeff first raised this issue I dismissed it out of hand.
However it's given more credance the more it's talked about in boxing circles.
I can tell you the rumour mill was in full flow at Hatton's recent show featuring Brodie.
This is a boxing forum for fans.
That's what I am - nothing more nothing less.
As a boxing fan I think if this turns out to be right it's worth talking about.
What's patronising about that ?
As for your comment about Rhodes, what the f**k has he got to do with this ?
Do you work for Meaty Mick or sommat ?
Very touchy response but as a matter of interest what's your take on it ?
For the record if it turns out to be fanciful I wont be surprised.
