Re: Macklin Undercard?
Thanks mate. Big help
Re: macklin undercard?
Martin and Mark Thompson have being doing the rounds for a while.... think Steve Wood came on and rubbished them once though. Think both are contracted to VIP (with Maloney TV dates). Expect both to get, or come close to getting some form of title shot next season too.diggler wrote:

Re: macklin undercard?
Thompson headlined the Hatton bill before Brodie and is also on this show. So is Martin Murray, Joe Murray, Rhys Roberts, Scott Quigg and... Re: macklin undercard?
looks like a pretty good card hope he keeps it up an its not just for his sky debut think thomson should fight for the english title anyone no who it is

Re: macklin undercard?
yeah thompson has headlined a hatton show
Re: macklin undercard?
English champ is Adnan Amar but he's supposed to defend against Tom Glover in October providing Glover doesn't upset John O'Donnell next week.diggler wrote:looks like a pretty good card hope he keeps it up an its not just for his sky debut think thomson should fight for the english title anyone no who it is
Re: macklin undercard?
thompson v amar would be a decent fight dont really rate amar
Re: macklin undercard?
i think september 25th will be a great night. I was at the velodrome last week for the michael brodie fight, and that was a great atmosphere, despite the fact it wasnt full. They said then it would sell out so i am hopefull.
By the looks of it, hatton promotions has the potential to be a big player, but i hope these big types of fights continue and not just because its their debut on sky. He has got a good crop of young fighters and a few good ticket sellers.
I would like to see maklin fight barker sometime soon, shame it never happened, but when a euro title shot comes up, your not going to turn it down.

Re: macklin undercard?
still don't understand why this isn't in the midlands rather than manc, with macklin, mcdermott and butler on the bill??

Butler's from bristol isn't he? although i take your point. i guess maybe 'hatton promotions' think their main fanbase is in manchester even if Ricky isn't fighting?whiteboy wrote:still don't understand why this isn't in the midlands rather than manc, with macklin, mcdermott and butler on the bill??

Its doesnt make sense Macklin and Mcdermott are from Brum and Butler from Bristol it should have been in the Midlands They have just signed Antony Small too Is he based in Manchester?? The velodrome was empty when Brodie fought there I cant see this selling great either But I dont think they mind losing money each time they do shows Cant believe Murray and Thompson jumped ship Hattons have to many fighters and not enough shows to keep them all busy

Re: macklin undercard?
i was agreeing with him
Re: macklin undercard?
They signed Small where did you read that?
Re: macklin undercard?
The vast majority of the undercard ticket-sellers are from Manchester plus Macklin spent the early part of his career there and is back there now. It's not so crazy – Butler sells in Bristol, McDermott is an 'away' fighter.johnnybgood wrote:Counter-puncher wrote:Butler's from bristol isn't he? although i take your point. i guess maybe 'hatton promotions' think their main fanbase is in manchester even if Ricky isn't fighting?whiteboy wrote:still don't understand why this isn't in the midlands rather than manc, with macklin, mcdermott and butler on the bill??

Re: macklin undercard?
where did you hear about anthony small. It suprised me that one because i hears he gave frank w, first options on him.
Re: macklin undercard?
It's not crazy, but I would of thought between Macklin & McDermott, with a few coming up from bristol and down from the north-west, this does a decent gate in the West Midlands....does it in Manchester (without knowing who these undercard ticket sellers are)dbflex wrote:Counter-puncher wrote:Butler's from bristol isn't he? although i take your point. i guess maybe 'hatton promotions' think their main fanbase is in manchester even if Ricky isn't fighting?whiteboy wrote:still don't understand why this isn't in the midlands rather than manc, with macklin, mcdermott and butler on the bill??

Re: macklin undercard?
Quigg, Roberts, Thompson can all shift tickets.whiteboy wrote:It's not crazy, but I would of thought between Macklin & McDermott, with a few coming up from bristol and down from the north-west, this does a decent gate in the West Midlands....does it in Manchester (without knowing who these undercard ticket sellers are)
Re: macklin undercard?
yeah, i was at the previous hatton show, and although the place wasnt full, each of the undercard fighters had decent support, with this being a bigger show, it will sell more tickets, and like i said before, all invloved with the show are convinced it will, or be close to a sell out.

Re: macklin undercard?
Still should be in Brum IMO - one of the reasons Macklin left Warren first time round was because he didnt get to box in Brum.dbflex wrote:Quigg, Roberts, Thompson can all shift tickets.whiteboy wrote:It's not crazy, but I would of thought between Macklin & McDermott, with a few coming up from bristol and down from the north-west, this does a decent gate in the West Midlands....does it in Manchester (without knowing who these undercard ticket sellers are)
I would hope Ricky is going to put him on in Brum in the near future.
As for Quigg, Roberts and Thompson - if they are ticket sellers they should be able to get a good few to take the 1 1/2 hr trip down the M6.
Re: macklin undercard?
Oh rite, thats a decent signing that. Ive seen a bit of small and i am impressed. I know alot of people are put if by the ego, but as a fighter he is impressive.johnnybgood wrote: He was at a press conference at Hattons gym when Ali visited there on ThursdayThey announced it then
Re: macklin undercard?
think they need to sign a few more bill toppers unless theye got title fights for the likes of murray morris and thompson
