Truscott v Simpson II

Post by TheGoods »

Not seen a thread for this so apologies if one is already kicking about. Cracking fight potentially this Friday and one that I'm going to get along to. Simpson a marginal fav with the bookies but I have been watching Michael Hunter spar Trussy and both have looked very sharp. I think Truscott can gut out a win here. He is a very clever fighter and if he doesn't allow his heart to rule his head like he did last time I can see him boxing his way to a decision. Simpson not boxed since their first fight and it's one of his longest bouts of inactivity in recent years. Trussy was out in June and honestly looks good to go here. Thoughts?

think it will be close again but as simpson was getting the better of him last time
think hell be confident and get to him much like when he beat morris on cut and then dominated there 3rd bout. maybe late stoppage or Trussy to survive tough late rounds and hang in till the end.

truscott's recent activity vs simpson's relative layoff may be the factor here in a close match.

i think i still favour simpson but if Truss is that bit sharper, he might get into a boxing rythm early

I think Simpson will get to him late, not enough to KO him but to eek out a closely disputed decision (after a sharp start from Truscott).

Both made weight no problem and both looked really good.

Any way you look at this fight it will be close and competitive, Truscott could look classy at times whilst Simpson will dig deep and come on strong.

Backed the draw myself at 25/1 - I know how unlikely they are but if ever a fight had a chance of being a draw on paper this is it.

On Skybet they have Simpson as 8/13 and Truscott as 6/5, normal crappy odds for boxing in my opinion.

I think Simpson will probably win again but the draw is a good price of 25/1. If Trusscott is to win he will have to do better in the early rounds than he did last time.
