British LightMiddleweights/Welterweights: El Maachi wants u!

Post by Jeff Thomas »

Good Evening Boxrec,

Yassine El Maachi moved to 10-4 (4 Ko's) tonight with a punch perfect 3rd Round KO win over journeyman Drew Campbell tonight and has asked me to put out a challenge to every Light Middleweight and Welterweight in the country who may stumble across this post.

He's on a run of 6 wins (3 by KO) since teaming up with Kevin Maree. All we ask for is decent notice and a fair ref. Yas and his team are uninterested in building 17 consecutive wins against journeyman. He wants real fights, against fighters willing to challenge themselves and not hide behind selected low risk journeyman and unknown foreign opposition.

He will fight ANY light-middle, or more suitably ANY welterweight in the country.

Please contact either myself or Kevin Maree. Promoters please take note- there is a fantastic talent desperate for an opportunity.

Thanks

Jeff Thomas and Kevin Maree

he's a welcome addition to the game, enjoyed watching him on ITV4 on Saturday, does this mean that TV appearance was a one off or will he fight next time ITV4 put a show on?
He's not as good as he thinks he is but he's not bad and as I say, a welcome new face in the game, new to me anyway.

In answer to that question, Yassine and I no longer work together because I found him quite difficult to train, this is often the way with mavericks, he is still a great fighter and a compelling character and I hope he gets the opportunities he deserves.
Ben Doughty.
