Hi. Yuri and Vasili might be one and the same, but I kind of doubt it. There is no mention of Vasili in Russian amateur records after his 1987 European Championships title, even though he was only 26 at that time. But his abrupt disappearance makes me think he might have suffered an injury which forced an end to his career. Vasili was not much of a puncher, but he was a tremendous boxer, tough to catch up with. Regards, Bill
