WILLIAMS TO FIGHT ON ????????
ACCORDING TO A DANNY WILLIAMS WEBSITE THAT INCIDENTLY I ONLY VISITED HAVING SEEN IT ON ANOTHER THREAD ABOUT HIS GREATEST HITS .
SAYS HES LOBBYING THE BOARD TO KEEP HIS BRITISH TITLE RATHER THAN BE STRIPPED FOLLOWING LOSS TO CARL BAKER , CITING LACK OF PROPER ABILITY TO TRAIN DUE TO RAMADAN .
http://dannywilliams.forumcircle.com/vi ... 2492়
IF YOU ASK ME HE WILL LOSE HIS TITLE TO ANY OF THE GUYS IN A POSITION TO CHALLENGE , HE REALLY SHOULD RETIRE BEFORE HE HURTS HIMSELF

Re: WILLIAMS TO FIGHT ON ????????
He showed alot in the 3rd round of the Baker fighter and was on verge of stopping him.
Granted he was all over the place in the first and looked shot.
IF he has a title then why not Defend it and get some extra cash in the bank
i would like to see him defend against Fury if he comes through Mcdermott
Knowing Danny hell look tremendous in his next fight.
the mans an Enigma

Why on earth did he enter Prizefighter then when he knew he couldn't train properly during Ramadan?

Would you turn down a possible 35k payday when you've got mouths to feed?

Re: WILLIAMS TO FIGHT ON ????????
I'm sure he would have beaten Baker over a longer distance, but really, that's not the point. For a man of Williams' pedigree to be dropped several times by someone like Baker is all the evidence we need as to what he has left. And I don't think Ramadan had anything to do with it - he was nailed by the first punch, so it's lot like stamina was his downfall.
When was the last time Williams looked good? (Not counting his ever-present bravery). Gammer, two and a half years ago, and Gammer didn't turn out to be all that. His last win that meant anything on the world stage? Skelton 1, three and a half years ago.
Williams has struggled terribly in almost every fight since Gammer, even when winning. Life and death with Airich, McDermott and Platov is poor form for a man who once fought for a world championship.

Re: WILLIAMS TO FIGHT ON ????????
I dont want him to carry on he looked terrible against a very limited opponant in Carl Baker over a longer duration he probably would of KO'd him though. Prizefighter was all wrong for him he's a slow starter and doesnt really have 1 punch KO power. If he does carry on there are still a few good fights out there for him

I reckon Danny faked his own retirement to get the Boxrec tribute thread(s)

Danny simply cannot hold a shot any more, he gets wobbled by virtually every shot that lands, and his balance has gone too.

Re: WILLIAMS TO FIGHT ON ????????
That's it with Danny (who I've had the pleasure of meeting and really liked the guy) but Ramadan's a shit excuse and if it meant he went into Prizefighter unable to fight to the best of his ability he shouldn't have taken part and instead trained properly (when have we heard that about him) and defended his British title.
Fact is Danny was as brave as ever but when you're getting smashed about by a rookie southpaw with let's be honest, who's not even that good, it's time to give it up and for sake of his own health I wish he would. He gets hurt in every fight he's in Danny and it won't do him any good in the long run if he continues.
Danny's had a lot of opportunities, been in some great fights, but should hang 'em up. He's got that look Tommy Hearns had later on in his career where any clean shot wobbled him and Tommy's damaged goods these days.

I'd like to see him take on Baker and KO him. Then retire. I'd be gutted if Danny lost though.

What would that achieve - beating somebody that a few years ago wouldn't have deserved to be in the same ring with danny?Exoddus wrote:I'd like to see him take on Baker and KO him. Then retire. I'd be gutted if Danny lost though.
Retire Danny, you have had a good career, beat Tyson and had a world title shot - you will only be hurt if you fight on as your punch resistance has deteriorated rapidly.

please retire!!
Re: WILLIAMS TO FIGHT ON ????????
Are you serious?! I doubt that very much, I dont think he would be that concerned about boxrec threads!Chambers2 wrote:I reckon Danny faked his own retirement to get the Boxrec tribute thread(s)
Re: WILLIAMS TO FIGHT ON ????????
Does he have money worries?
I mean he's had the "sit down and evaluate his career" for virtually every fight since Klitchsko. We've also had the "I'd retire if I lose" for a few of his fights, and he does lose.
Rediculous that Danny signed up for Prizefighter knowing about Ramadan..... that was dangerous. He's almost as deliousal as Audley.

I think you under-estimate the importance of Boxrec, it's the considered opinions of us boxing officianados that drives the pugilistic world. The Hayemakers and Frochs are hanging on my every word to see what they should do next.Des1 wrote:Are you serious?! Super 6 tournie at 12 stone.......my idea, I PM'd all the promoters and Showtime about it in March
Re: WILLIAMS TO FIGHT ON ????????
he should retire hes nothing to fight on for
Re: WILLIAMS TO FIGHT ON ????????
How can they strip him? I'm not sure of the technicalities...was he due to defend and didn't to enter prizefighter? Or can they just strip him for his own good and health? ![[icon_e_confused.gif]](./images/smilies/icon_e_confused.gif)

Re: WILLIAMS TO FIGHT ON ????????
Yes, but even when he has done that, without the Ramadan excuse, he's struggled terribly with McDermott. He should have retired a while ago, the Baker fight was just the confirmation, the underlining and emboldening of what we already knew.DIRT SUGAR wrote:That's it with Danny (who I've had the pleasure of meeting and really liked the guy) but Ramadan's a poop excuse and if it meant he went into Prizefighter unable to fight to the best of his ability he shouldn't have taken part and instead trained properly (when have we heard that about him) and defended his British title.

Re: WILLIAMS TO FIGHT ON ????????
Very true. It was infact me who organised the Haye-Valuev fight when the Klitshcko's were running scared of the heavyweight saviour, all by PM.Chambers2 wrote:I think you under-estimate the importance of Boxrec, it's the considered opinions of us boxing officianados that drives the pugilistic world. It is also boxrec who are behind the conspiracy to keep Audley Harrison from winning what is rightfully his and becoming the undisputed heavyweight title.

Re: WILLIAMS TO FIGHT ON ????????
Rogan or Sexton would both beat Williams. Rogan would be too relentlesses and stop him in the middle rounds and Sexton would outpoint him. Williams' punch resistance has totally gone he couldnt hold Rogan off and Sexton would outbox him imo
