ha ha !!!!

I found Hayes publicity stunt - funny - just because it was so silly and stupid - and a ill adivsed "joke" that went down like a lead balloon. :OhYes:

He even got in a shoving match with the masked Julius Long - ---- very childish stuff.

Makes Haye look like a joke.

But fair enough to Haye - least it shows he got some personanilty - and was indulging in a joke.

Even if it did make him look like a overgrown kid playing silly games

Wazza broke his neck to sign Froch.

Froch listened to his bullsh*t and then blanked his calls.

By slagging Haye & Froch he's not endearing himself to anybody is?

On the flipside when Froch is coming out with such drivel then its not hard to potshot him is it????

I tell you something, Froch would be a household name if he had gone with Frank, Frank has a tried and tested method of creating crossover stars!!!

And the flipside to that, pocket, is that he probably wouldn't have fought Pascal and Taylor or be participating in the Super 6 tourney!

And the flipside to that Chesh, is if Hennessey had been successful in creating a croosover star would he be risking him in this fantastic tournament or would he be raking in regular cash himself against safer opponents??

Oh, I agree that Pascal and Taylor already matches anything Joe did. People think i hate Froch, I actually dont!

But DG, Hennessey is a businessman, its easy to 'want the big when you have no TV backing and your main asset is anonymous. I just believe that if Hennessey had a big star then there is a possibilty that he may be more 'sensible' with his matchmaking!!

That's the start time Showtime are paying him for, but that doesn't make it attractive for cash-strapped British broadcasters - especially ITV - who depend on advertising revenue.
yeah well you milked that side of things wazza, and ITV weren't too chuffed when joe's long overdue big fight had to be screened late, were they. the likes of wazza and joe, with their caution, their mismatches and their obsessive weighing up of risk (minimum) and reward (maximum), milked what they could and arguably left little behind.

now, the exciting brits, the yank prospects, the once protected germans, ALL have to fight hard opponents for their money. in doing this, they'll be doing more than a 20 defense wazza "legend."

thank fvck for warriors like froch & haye, talented fighters slightly on the outside looking in, who are willing to go for the fvcking throat and grab their prize.

haye - i really hope he beats valuev. then he gets another one over on warren. beating "big mac" was one. winning the WBA title, which warren's best heavyweight skelton - who hugged his way through chagaev fight - could not do.

I kinda agreed with Auld-franky this time :-?

haye is cheapening himself with his cringe worthy antics ..
Where as Froch can be excellent in interviews .. but then seems to get carried away trying to sell himself. Is he really insecure and doing this to bolster himself some?

I think the way haye is behaving is out of desperation, there is very little interest in the fight amongst the general public, and they are the ones who need to buy the ppv, hardcore fans are not enough for this fight to make any money and pushing and shoving a haloween freak around may get people talking about it

The Sun seems to like setting Froch up with their columnists and mis-quotes.

Anyway, it's publicity i suppose.

Haye's cheesy press conference got one of my colleagues talking about boxing. That's impressive. Warren is just jealous.

And Warren's pissed off that he doesn't have a trash talker like Froch; especially one that's a World titlist.

It's OK Warren, you've got Khan.

As cringe worthy as Haye's PC was, I still noticed BBC morning news cover it the following day. When was the last time one of Wazza anonymous warriors got any terrestrial TV time? Khan aside, Wazza's stable consists of half a dozen headliners that nobody outside the Boxrec forum have ever seen or heard of before.

New kids on the block, PPV channel Primetime, came to his rescue and will be showing the fight, but they came in at the last minute after no one else wanted it.

Froch's problem is two-fold. First, the fight will go ahead at around 2am.

That's the start time Showtime are paying him for, but that doesn't make it attractive for cash-strapped British broadcasters - especially ITV - who depend on advertising revenue.

2am for a British fight! Thats ridiculous. American's can watch it at a decent time when we have our primetime still.

Agree about Haye, doesn't fight for a year, ducks both Klitschko's and then goes for the easy one after talking so much talk he hasn't backed up.

That's pretty much been my view since 2002. I think Wazza is past it, and doesn't understand what 18-30year old blokes are into these days, but he'd have turned Froch into a star for my money.
he'd have turned him into WBO boxer of the year

maybe even a WBO "super champion"

No. Eubank moved up and very nearly beat Carl Thompson - twice.
From what I remember Eubank was well beaten twice and was stopped in 1 of them. He gave Calzaghe a tougher fight and nealy had him in the last.

Calzaghe was dropped in first and badly hurt in last but Eubank was well beaten by Joe. Eubank decked Carl and was beating him in first until about round 9 when Carl went ahead... in the second fight Chris was boxing Carl's head off, but for reasons only greedy men can understand, the fight took place about 90days after first and Eubank's eye hadn't had time to heal and was stopped with a closed eye while well ahead.[/quote]
calzage dropped eubank in the first, not the other way round
