Bowe's manager Rock Newman always acted like a jerk.

frnk warren. he think's only his fighter's are good. when he is promoting them they are the best in the world then when they leave him because they realise he is an arsehole he say's they are bums. can't blame good old terry marsh for popping a cap in his ass back in 99

Re: Worst Managers Of All Time
Terry didn't do it and it was a decade earlier when he got shot.

You do have to wonder about that @ bomber
But then again in Germany boxing is too healthy to bend over for the american audience as much as we do.

any bast*rd that wraps his boxers hands in illegal sh*t, none of whom I can name right now, manybe I'm getting into trainers here...I'm sure there's a south african one that trained and managed that boxer who beat the British/ Irish lad, illegally, who went on to kill himself or run his car off the road blind drunk.
Can't get worse than that. .......(with the possible exception of Souness)

Funny BUT you gotta point mate!! Abraham Vs Taylor didn't go out at a time to suit the US and Taylor is a bigger draw than Dirrell at the min.. I guess Kalle wouldn't have Abraham fighting at silly hours eh???

ROY HILDER IS THE WORST MANAGER I'VE EVER KNOWN. THE THINGS HE HAS DONE TO FIGHTERS IS A DISGRACE.

Ant,
Sorry Pal - got to disagree about what you say about Meaty Mick being a bad manager.
You know me and him dont like each other too much - but nonetheless he thinks the world of his lads and is extremely loyal to them and to be perfectly honest there should be more around like him.
Has he made mistakes - yes in my view - but havnt we all.
Hennessy is a good manager - but from a promotional side of things perhaps he has a few more steps to take before we can call him one of the best.
Nope I am not looking for an angle back in there - I would rather my next sh*t be a hedgehog - but Hennessy has looked after his "Class of 2002" lads and Froch is his and always has been his favourite!!! Hennessy has taken a lot of stick the way he toughly match some of his lads - its my view if he hadnt with some of the fights Froch had - Froch wouldnt be where he is today - he knows how to dig deep and is fully prepared for almost anything - except Mikkel Kessler!!!

Re: Worst Managers Of All Time
I honestly believe you are being harsh mate - yes Hennessy perhaps has rubbed some TV executives up the wrong way and thus thats why his promotional company is suffering with regards to TV deals - I fully appreciate getting TV and thus more revenue is a rather good idea and a large role in a promoters life - but in every other aspect I truly believe Hennessy has done a good job in securing his lads some decent fights.Coco wrote:Perhaps a few more steps!!!!!!!!Spud wrote:Hennessy is a good manager - but from a promotional side of things perhaps he has a few more steps to take before we can call him one of the best.

In the short time and it is a relatively short time - Hennessy has been a promoter - look at the domestic champions he has produced and then he has got Eastman a European and then a world title shot and then look at Froch.
I am telling you right now - For putting on Froch at the time he did - and incidentally the Head of Boxing for Showtime was sat next to Hennessy at Froch/Dirrell - I am willing to bet Hennessy secured a lot more money than he should!!!
