Dean Mills v Chris Higgs tonight!!!
A cracking little bout hidden away in Tourquay where Mill, on a great run at the moment takes on unbeaten Chris Higgs!!
Anyone got any opinions on the fight?

I'll be pulling from Mills as he's from my home town. Haven't seen him box since his amateur days though. Is he really on a great run though? While he won his last bout against Steve Gethin, he'd drawn the previous two.

One of the draws was agaunst Chester's Kevin Buckley, a very good performance! He doesnt seem to want it easy though!!
Maybe great run was too much..he has certainly turned into a decent prospect though, and if he wins tonight then the only way is up!! Really nice fella aswell!!

Ah, I see. I think Mills suffers from something others have touched on in the past, in that if you're a fighter who isn't from a boxing 'hot-spot' like Manchester, Sheffield or London, then you're off the radar in every sense - you're not attractive to promoters, it's hard to built a mass following of fans, it's hard to get quality sparring and coaching etc, etc, etc.thepocketrocket wrote:One of the draws was agaunst Chester's Kevin Buckley, a very good performance! South of Bristol the whole of the South West suffers from this and Mills is doing well against those odds. It won't be a case of not wanting it easy, it's a case of no choice as you're simply not in a position of strength, however you judge that.
Will definitely be hoping he comes out on top against Higgs.

That would make sense!! Not bad for a man who lost his first 11 amateur bouts!!!
Yes, and I'm gutted...Dean is a yound lad however and will surely come back!

I was at the Higgs v Mills fight. It was a closely fought match and the decision was given to Higgs.
Lots of spectators did'nt agree but I personally think Higgs did enough to win.
