Coronation Street - Adam Rickitt..

Post by el_grande_mauro_mina »

Do you remember Gail Platts really blond, girly looking son from 10 years ago? Don't ask but I was looking
at the shortland street website (A New Zealand soapie) and here are some facts about the actor Adam Rickitt?

http://tvnz.co.nz/shortland-street-feat ... ow-2216911

About Adam Rickitt

1. His lucky number is '2'

2. He won a National Amateur boxing championship

3. He once trained as a chef

4. He is obsessed with Grand Prix

5. He speaks fluent French

Was Adam Rickitt a national amateur boxing champion or is he bullshitting the Kiwis because 'he comes from afar' ?

I follow the amateur scene but I have never heard about Adam Rickett being a national (I take it he was an ABA or NABC champion
of some sort) champion?

Mind you, didnt he live in Canada for a bit, or am I confusing the realms of reality and soap again?

He's a proper tit aswel isnt he. I dont know him on a personal level, just got something about him - both on screen and off screen interviews... probably very nice.. a liar, but a very nice liar.

Just spent half an hour scolling through all the champions and he isn't there, doubt he has been near a gym in his life. Seeing the quality of the names that did win he really has made an ass of himself by claiming that

before both he and fellow finalist K Barlow were both thrown out for lack of action.

I wouldn't put anything past this lad; he has after all been a famous actor despite not being able to act, been a pop star, depsite not being able to sing, and ran for a Tory MP despite being....well actually you don't need any qualifications for that.

Good to see he is still stealing a living!

What I really want to know about this thread though, is how bored you have to be to be browsing the shortland street web-site!!!

Correct response is "you cant handle the truth" , but on this occassion, as its you, we'll accept "more than you want him" , which incidentally is a very strange response. Last thing I'd imagine is one of the other posters "wanting" adam rickets, but there we go. horses for coarses.

Not many of you follow Australian and New Zealand boxing so I will fill you in on a bit of background information...

OK, so on Shortland Street, there is an actor called Xavier Horan - a rugged Maori actor in the vein of Temura Morrison (Jake the Mus of Once Were Warriors - he was in Shortland Street as Dr Heni Ropata ) and anyway - Xavier Horan turned pro as a stand in for Gary 'The Baboon' Gurr who got toothache before his bout against Dean 'The Bouncer' Allen over in Auckland.

So - if you can imagine Steve McDonald (or the bloke who plays him) turning pro as a heavyweight in this country and knocking the shite out of Dean 'The Bouncer' Allen in three rounds - who'd had thought it eh? Some poncy thespian giving a hard as nails barroom bouncer a good hiding in the ring - so thats what happened.

Anyway - Xavier Horan is a tough guy even though he is a soap star in New Zealand - he fancies himself as a boxer and was lined up to take on Adam Forsyth an Australian olympian and commonwealth games medalist - now this is like Steve McDonald taking on David Price over four rounds! Horan had the good sense to pull out and get a bit more experience in a New Zealand ring - so anyway thats the background stroy and I decided to look up a bit more about Xavier Horan.

So, stand back in amazement when I look at the shortland street website and find out the championship boxer in the cast is not Xavier Horan but ADAM RICKITT :box: Bloody hell - someone is having a laugh surely! He must have won on a walkover in the gayweight division in the Monserrat championships 1997 (the day after the volcano erupted)

Now I am starting to sound like wildwayon so I will stop right here! But I think young Adam is telling fibs!

This is like that Rob Tickle bloke that goes out with Jennifer Ellison. Claims to be a boxer yet there's no evidence to prove it.

I googled 'adam rickitt and boxing' and got this pdf file from an agency

http://www.johnsonlaird.com/assets/docu ... graphy.pdf

There is something of a biography about Adam Rickitts boxing career and that he was a 'north of england'
amateur boxing champion.

Now I have heard of the NW counties and the NE counties but I have never heard of the 'North of England'
amatuer title. Have the WBO or the WBU got involved with the amateur boxing game since I have been
away? Making up bogus multiple titles?

I can't open the pdf file here in China - the authorities have banned me from seeing it just in case there is information
detrimemtal to china - still I can access to BNP and Stormfront website in China. :shame:

So if anyone can open the pdf file and post on here the info about Adam Rickitt being the 'North of England' amateur boxing
champion, I would be very grateful! Cheers chaps!

Seems that every guy who spent time on the weights used to box - and every guy who spent time in the armed forces used to be in the SAS :-?
