What will Haye do if he just gets totally destroyed ?

Post by FLINT ISLAND »

If Haye wins great - future super fights against the Vitali and Wlad Brothers and all that..............

If he loses a competitive fight - or drops a controvsial decsion - he can still go on and compete in big fights.

But what happens if Haye just finds himself out of his depth on Saturday.

What happens if he is just crushed completely ?

Looked what happened to Herbie Hide V Vitali Klitshko and Riddick Bowe, etc, etc

Its quite possible this guy will dish out a one sided beatdown.

Now of course I think Haye has a good chance in this fight - but he is up against it.

But if the worst happens and he just gets splattered - are we looking at David Hayes last professional fight on Saturday ?

I doubt he has thought about it. If he does lose I wouldnt be surprised if he retired but maybe he'll fight the likes of Povetkin or Chambers so he gets another crack at a title :bag:

The only fighter who is going to get totally destroyed on Saturday is Valuev.

Name me an in-form heavyweight Valuev has destroyed? He doesn't have a punch at this level.

Go and watch (if it is still up) when Valuev fought Gerard Nobles - if that had gone one - Nobles would
have knocked out Valuev.

Valuev is not crap - he has decent speed and skillset for a man his size but Haye is at another level
and will stop him with ease.

The only way Valuev will win this is by hometown descion - in fact thats what I am going for Valuev on points
in another massive robbery.

Is Haye gonna go for the K O? I feel he is just gonna dance and try to out point the big man using his skills and speed, will be intresting to see if the beast can land one on Haye and how he takes it.

So Haye is going is going to stop Valuev with ease yet at the same time Valuev will win in another massive robbery? At least you have your options covered.

no way haye beats valuev. the stick and move style won't win the rounds and if he gets close to valuev he might get clubbed, and we know what will happen if that happens.

The same thing (almost) every fighter in his situation would do. Make some excuses and move on.

Since when is Valuev the second coming of King Kong?!

Haye will box his head off over 12, unless he gets cocky and Valuev catches him with a clumping hook......

Would be a terrible shame if Haye retired at 29 years of age and after 23 or 24 fights. He's a fighter caught between two weight divisions, too big for cruiser, and too vulnerable for heavyweight. Hes an infinitely superior fighter to Valuev, and may win with ease. But you get the feeling that the lights may get turned out either by a big clump from Valuev or a breakdown in stamina any time from 8 rounds onwards. Hope this wont happen and that the Haye express keeps running for some time yet, he's the most exciting British fighter since Benn.

He could make cruiser again . . he fought Enzo just a year and a half ago and made the weight no problem. I think if he gets blasted away by Valuev, a very slim possibility, he'll go back to cruiser.

Possibly, and possibly the total end of Hayemaker promotions, too.

I hope not, of course.

Can't say for sure but if he were to get totally bombed out, I reckon its likely he'll retire. Haye will make money away from Boxing, so its not as if he needs the sport to totally support himself & his family!

That's the thing - Valuev will catch him with something.

We're not talking about a chris byrd style pure boxer here, who can befuddle the rather cumbersome Valuev, we're talking David Haye - bombs away, big shots, all out offence, and crucially, little head or lateral movement. i would even say Haye is made for Valuev.

Valuev was confused by Oldyfield because evander showed decent movement. Plus holyfield always had toughness at the highest level and the pedestrian Valuev wasn't going to trouble him there. Haye is going to just stand off Valuev and try and time him, and in doing this he won't be an elusive target. He'll either get caught reaching in or just walked down and clobbered by something big and clumsy but damaging. If he doesn't get caught clean he will surely be just worn down by Valuev's presence. Haye's style isn't made for distance box-fighting, it's for big kayoes. He is a pure puncher, full stop. If he can't get his man out of there, he's in trouble, unless his opponent's power can't trouble him - but this won't be the case at heavyweight. I think Valuev can take it and dish some out himself.

We all know about Haye's deficiencies and it won't take a King Kong to stop him up at heavyweight.

I dont think he could make cruiser again, he was boiled down pretty bad when he was in the division and his last fight there was over 18 months ago. I dont think its a slim possibility he will get blasted by Valuev, its a genuinely 50:50 fight for reasons already stated.

x2

as long as haye concentrates and doesnt get over confident he should be in for an easy nights work.

Valuev could have realistically lost to a zombie holyfield ffs. size and weight have got him to where he is

Overrated by whom? Everyone considers him an excellent puncher with a very suspect chin. He isn't overrated at all.

Plus he's brilliant for boxing, and easily one of the most exciting Heavyweights in the world.

Silly comment :witzend:

I have already stated elsewhere that I believe this is a 50 / 50 fight

But this is just considering the consequences for Haye / British Heavyweight boxing if he was to find this level of heavyweight too much and get outgunned

then where could he go from here ?

I dont see him sticking around and just fighting bums and journeymen

He has made it clear he wants to win the heavyweight titles ASAP - and then get out the game

But if it all goes badly wrong on Saturday - what then ?

Yes, we all know about his deficiencies, but I don't think he's going to go in all guns blazing v Valuev. He won't try and knock him out, unlike most of his previous fights where he's looked to finish it early.

I hope he uses his superior skill and speed and dips in and out scoring points. I think that's what he'll do.

Sure he is going to take some along the way but Valuev is hardly Tyson is he? He's bloody awful....

For a man his size I admit he has a half-decent skillset, but overall he is just a big lump. If you consider Lennox, Ali, Holmes and co as A+ fighters, Valuez is an F at best.

The jury's still out on Haye, but I won't be writing him off...

lol, i've seen haye ko'd by thompson and hurt badly by a litany of fighters, including a middleweight. ive seen holyfield beat valuev clearly. haye wouldn't be able to handle holyfield, even at this stage.
