Jamie Moore Interview
Re: Jamie Moore Interview
Nice one Jamie, u want a job? i hear the guy who interviewed u is v talented haha
Re: Jamie Moore Interview
Nice Jamie, good luck with the move to middle and I think you Vs Macklin would be an absolute sellout but remember Macklin IMO is a way better middle than he was a light middle.

Re: Jamie Moore Interview
Good interview and good luck with the move up to middleweight. It sounds sensible and neccesary. Will really look forward to Macklin-Moore II. The first fight, I'll not forget. An all time classic.Good times ahead, me thinks.
Re: Jamie Moore Interview
great stuff. looking forward to seeing you at 100%.
what would it take, to make a macklin fight? i mean, macklin's fighting this pintos guy, so will the EBU title vacate? would mooresy get a quick european ranking and perhaps have to fight someone like dmitry pirog (similar, but bigger and better, to baysangurov).
i hope moore gets his macklin rematch in a big irish stadium, but would macklin want to make such a tough title defense, if he is looking toward an IBF middleweight title shot?

Re: Jamie Moore Interview
Clever move by Moorsey to try and grab onto the coat-tails of Macklin's surge in the middleweight division. Personally however, i think Moorsey ought to earn his shot at Macklin with a warm-up fight at middleweight (which was mentioned to be fair) and then take on the winner of Elcock-Barker.
I dont think that losing your euro belt at light-middle means that you should leap frog the queue to fight the euro champion at the next division up, even if you have previously beaten the guy in a classic.
In any event good luck tho.

Good interview. One friendly piece of advice I would suggest would be working on your defense in the gym Jamie.

If you can't take the punches, you might want to work on not getting hit by them.Autobarn wrote:when you heap on the pressure you are going to take a few.SnoopyLoopy wrote:Good interview. One friendly piece of advice I would suggest would be working on your defense in the gym Jamie.
Re: Jamie Moore Interview
win some, lose some.
mooresy has world class punching technique and up at middle he'll be winning fights like the rhodes one, i would think.
the way he rallied when hurt in rds 6 and 7: awesome stuff. THAT, is what made it a great fight. what he was able to muster, when hurt by rhodes' power and weakened from making 154 pounds. i still think moore was the real star of that fight, even though it was a great chapter in the rhodes story.

I understand you like pressure fighters. But you let your bias cloud your judgement on how good they actually are.

I wish you nothing but the best, Jamie, in your venture up to 160lbs. IMO, Pavlik is not the biggest concern at MW. It is Paul Williams that people should be concerned with. He will beat the guys at 154lbs or 160lbs. Williams is the real deal & he is clearly an avoided fighter. Apart from Pavlik & Martinez, the list to face Williams is not exactly long!
Moore-Macklin 2 would be huge, but I can't see it living up to the first fight!

A top man and a top boxer who will do bloody well at middleweight!!!
Re: Jamie Moore Interview
I have only seen your last 3 fights Jamie but i like your style. Best of luck at middle, and you showed a lot of class after the Rhodes defeat - no shame in that either, as he's a world class fighter.
Re: Jamie Moore Interview
bias, judgement - wank, wank. keep it to the subject, not the poster. it is becoming a bit of a cliche to say, "ooh, 'e likes so and so fighters, so 'e's biased!"SnoopyLoopy wrote:Autobarn wrote:win some, lose some.

i think the mayweathers of the world should be fighting the likes of paul williams. williams is obviously very very difficult and few fighters want to fight him.Rocky Balboa wrote:I wish you nothing but the best, Jamie, in your venture up to 160lbs. just think, if moore regroups, brings something big, he could end up fighting lee, macklin or duddy in a big stadium in ireland. that is possible. i bet the turnout for that fight would be far greater than, say, the live gate for any of williams' fights.
moore is being undervalued. he has given so much to british boxing. it is essential to have great domestic fights and he's had more than his share. it's alright to have the khans getting every chance, hitting gloves and running, winning a title but being boring. boxing needs the jamie moores, whether he's on the domestic, euro or world scenes. he's given loads of drama. and he's given some fine professional performances that hint at higher levels.

Noone can deny he has been in good exciting fights. But in terms of LEVELS Khan would be much higher and a much better fighter. This is the problem you have with these types of fighters. You love their styles and excitement so much that you convince yourself they are world class. Moore is a case in point.Autobarn wrote:i think the mayweathers of the world should be fighting the likes of paul williams. williams is obviously very very difficult and few fighters want to fight him.Rocky Balboa wrote:I wish you nothing but the best, Jamie, in your venture up to 160lbs. Re: Jamie Moore Interview
i disagree with that. he has KO'd a top 6 middleweight (mack) and dominated a top 10 welter (lujan). he has chopped down a former word champ in a couple of rounds (picc), a guy who had just been in the late rds with vernon forrest.
jamie moore i would say has had hard luck, some of it perhaps his own doing (i believe the DQ punch v mike jones 2 really knocked him down the EBU rankings), some by others (pullouts of baysangurov), not to mention illness (colas), injury (had left shoulder problems which stopped him throwing double left hook until the mexican & healy) not to mention making the same weight since he was 16.
khan has been given every chance, every opportunity, and has the big money spent on him - yet still has been incredibly fallible, until he's basically avoided exchanges. this will help him as a successful sportsman but i feel won't raise anyone's pulse. jamie moore has shown world class punching technique, is a bloody good fighter. but sometimes you can be damn good at it doesn't always work out.

With 45 posts and the majority about Moore you obviously have a problem with him? Do you have a problem with Roberto Duran, or Ricky Hatton?SnoopyLoopy wrote:Noone can deny he has been in good exciting fights. What complete and utter disrespect to Rhodes.
So the way Rhodes sucked it up when under pressure, hit Moore with a shot that would have most drooling, then finished the fight clinically means he brought f**k all to the fight ?
Did that not contribute to making it a great fight ?
Do you think Rhodes makes the weight easy ?
If I'm honest I think Mooresey will whince when he reads that shite.
Re: Jamie Moore Interview
you yorkie fans are a sad bunch. not sad as in "sat git", but sad as in defensive, surly and morose.
it's a moore thread, and i can be impressed by his rallies & mention this, if i feel like it. this is what stood out, to me.
i gave rhodes credit on other threads. did i not say moore would have likely beaten any other brit/euro, in spite of his circumstances i.e. the weight issue, which he mentions himself.
what's up? it's like you need reassurance all the time, FFS. ok, i'm more looking forward to moore @ 160, than rhodes' next fight. so what: don't we all have preferences?
when hayemaker promotes his WBA heavyweight title defense, i hope he can perhaps put rhodes on undercard even though he dosn't promote him anymore.
only person who's wincing is you, you yorkshire pickpocket wi' big thighs!
