Will Haye & Don King hook up ????????????

Post by Foggy »

I was just abit concerned last night how Don King reacted after Haye won, all over Valuev before the fight & when Haye won........straight to the Haye corner, any thoughts as if King may get Haye, i hope not as the stories of King ripping boxes off is terrible, any thoughts ???

Jesus! If that came to fruition, the press conferences would be hard work. Dave can talk a bit, but would he get a word in edgeways with Don there? It would be like "Woah! Just take a breath, boys."

I'd guess Haye was forced to take options to get the fight in the first place

"I came with the champion and i left with the champion"

Don King

I reckon Haye is a bit too savvy to get tied up with King, they might do business together but i'm sure Haye will have the best lawyers out there reviewing any deals or contracts.

haye has avoided anyone taking care of his business except himself and adam, hence the bad feeling between him and fw etc...

Too right. Don famously stepped over a prostrate Joe Frazier in order to reach George Foreman's corner. He is as shallow as a puddle.

He was certainly going to be tied to contracts if the Klit fight had come off.

lol yeh don king is finished he just walks about with those stupid flags all the time and tries rhyming like Ali, he's been a relative nobody since tyson retired, I'd say haye has more chance of signing to Mr warren and thats about as likely as me growing a third testicle.

Underestimate Don King at your peril. This is a man who apparently persuaded another man to put up the money for the Ali-Foreman. The Don has proved people wrong in the past, many times in fact!

If Haye knows what is good for him, I think he will stay away from King. Maybe in the future King will perhaps promote or co-promote a fight with featuring Haye, but that will be as far as it goes I think. There will be no manager or adviser role for King in Haye's team.

Who saw King at the weigh-in? The man is nearly 80, but is still going strong, still talking, talking, talking. Promoting non-stop. You have to admire his work ethic, whether you like him or not!

Haye will not be a Don king fighter - The Ruiz fight had to take place due to him being the WBA mandatory - Haye will box in America through Golden Boy and possibly in UK under Hatton promotions.

Yes he did.

I cannot see Haye signing with King - King doesn't have the clout he did in the mid nineties, and is a diminished force especially where the heavyweight division is concerned.

King used to have the division sewn up to the extent that if you wanted a shot, you almost had to sign to king to get the shot.

Lewis I think was the beginning of the end, he showed other fighters that they could go it alone, and then losing the court case with Kushner over Rahman also put the boot in.

Now the networks aren't prepared to back King to the hilt either he doesn't have the resources he once had and I think Haye simply doesn't need him.

Ruiz is with King isn't he? However, he cannot really hold anything over Haye, as Haye is the champ.

How come King was promoting the Nurenborg fight? He must have his claws into one of the fighters

He promoted Valuev - by far the worst of the belt holders - now he has nothing unless Haye gave him options.
