Savannah Marshall

Post by TheGoods »

Off topic slightly and I'm definitely biased as she is my cousin but looks a cracking prospect for gold in 2012. Bashed up two top Americans in GB v USA clashes in London over the weekend and won Best Boxer award on Sunday. Absoloutely dominated. Yet to lose as a junior or senior and simply making it all look ridiculosly easy right now. She has a very quiet, shy personality so can't see her letting it all go to her head either.

I'd bet her to win gold in 2012 but with my record I think I best leave it!

Not seen her in action myself, but I know she is the girl that the amateur are most excited about. She's very young, about 18, and think she's boxing a welter at the moment but is expected to box at middle in 2012.

She's had 18 fights and 18 wins, I think she has got 13 stoppages as well. She's the current European Union champion. She's pobably just over 6 feet in height and she hits like a mule!

Savannah boxes for the Hartlepool Headland Boxing Club, her coach Tim Coulter is over the moon with her progress.
