James De Gale's next opponent...

Post by whicker »

Nathan King.

Bit conservative, really.

I'm not meaning to be negative or nasty, but am I the only one who really isn't excitied by De Gale? Hard to exaplin, but this "Golden Boy" thing just doesn't seem to sell it to me any more.

King is a decent opponent. Ran Kenny Anderson close for Celtic title this year. Tough and experienced, will be difficult to stop.

Anyone know what has happened to Anderson?

I can see this being one of those stoppages that is perhaps a touch early. I've felt that in a few of the contests involving the Olympians it would have been possible to let their opponents carry on.

Credit for booking a British opponent and not Izdabittz Xgrokiliov

Anderson was charged with attacking someone with a hammer, but all charges were dropped in July.
Because of that his training was disrupted, but he makes his next fight on the 29th of this month, then takes on Paul David in a british title eliminator in January

This is a good choice of opponent at this stage he is very durable. Will anymore title fights be added to this bill?

Yeah- that would be a good solid support bout.

Maybe they'll stick the Atlantic City bill on the end as a bonus?

Other than to die-hard fans, I don't think that would make any difference.

DeGale is being given guys who have low KO ratios. It's looking a lot like Khan's development.

It's only his fifth fight. What do you expect?

Mick Monaghan would be a good opponent for this stage of his career.

Certainly a difficult opponent for Degale, shows FW has great faith in him at this early stage of his career

That's an excellent match for a novice DeGale. What's not to like. Pound-for-pound, it's a sterner test than Steve Saville for Frankie Gavin, and everyone thought that was decent enough.
