You know Floyd Havard trained in that famous boxing shed behind my garden

Gareth Bevan trained Colin Jones and then he trained Floyd Havard

Gareth Bevan ran the boxing shed behind my garden for over 40 years :box: :box: :box:

This is in white collar/unlicenced Boxing.

I remember Floyd trying to embark on a come back to regular boxing a few years ago - and it was very embarrising cause he was way over the weight limit... fight was postponed - tried again a few weeks later.... and was still way over the weight limit.

The show was at the Equinox in London when he was overweight, I was promoting it.
He was weighed in the day before in Cardiff by a welsh board official and then turned up on the day in London a stone and a bit heavier.
He was going to box one of Philip Fondues boys who after a bit of negotiating agreed to go ahead with the fight but BBBofC Rep Robert Smith refused to sanction it.
There was a big argument as Floyd had a signed weight receipt by the welsh area board which stated he was the day before the fight under the agreed limit.
After that Floyd lost his temper and called it a day.
We thought it was unfair as floyd had obeyed the rules and you see many fighters coming in heavier than what they weighed in.
This and a few other instances was why i walked away from the pro scene.
