Lupe Pintor & Jose Luis Ramariz fight corrections
Hi guys, beg to differ on two fights I've found in your database. One, Lupe Pintor vs. Jorge Lujan (9/23/82) wasn't in Mexico, it was at the Olympic Auditorium in Los Angeles. The second, Oscar Bejines vs. Adrian Arreola (8/12/82), I'm 99% certain it was Jose Luis Ramariz and not Arreola. I was at the two fights mentioned above. All three Bejines brothers fought that night. David was KO'd, Kiko then quit on his stool with a with a sprained shoulder. People at this time were joking to those who bought Bejines brothers posters if they'd gotten them 2/3 off. Oscar (Negro) was up last & pulled out a gutsy 10 round decision. I'm sure it was the great bomber Ramariz & not Arreola. Thanks for an excellent site!!! Dennis
Thanks for the heads up on the Pintor-Lujan location, it’s been corrected. :)
But I think the Bejines-Arreola result will have to stand as it is.
This was reported in Tonight’s Boxing Program #440, on page 2; and in Dick Mastro’s Official Boxing Record Book Vol. VII No. 8 on page 44.
It is back up by the California Athletic Commission report of which I received at the time and still have in my possession.
BTW, Bejines & Arreola weighed 125 for that fight.
Jose Luis Ramirez fought on 08/28/82 in Cuidad Obregon at lightweight (135) that August.
