Looked really good. Should beat this guy up, then fight Barker later next year. Think Barker would win though?

You can watch it live on that link at the top of the screen. Just finished the sixth, Maclin in control, but maybe lost the 5th.

Lackluster there from Macklin. Perhaps he needs to be fired up more to produce the fireworks. RTE screen was good....when it worked. Anyway 99-88 points win for Macklin.

not sure if it was lackluster.

he was never out of third gear, never troubled, the guy was like a crab with the guard and Macklin still dropped him time times - something Ghevor and Mundine failed to do.

You would think if he was gonna make a real impact at world level he would be KO'ing guys like this easily. He won at a canter but the guy was literally a warm body. Ghover isn't any great shakes and Mundine decisions most of the dodgy south american imports he's largely built his career on. The guy had been knocked out twice early already in his career. Like I said I suspect Macklin needs to be really up for a fight to produce the spectaculars we've seen recently.

Macklin revealed afterwards that he had hurt his hand in the second round. See the interview with him & Ricky

I would have liked to see him finish the fight as well but Pintos visited the canvas three times in all and Macklin looked like he had an awful lot more to give in my opinion

I was asked to get in shot as my face adds value

Some scores: JJ McDonagh stopped his man in the first as did Michael Kelly and Gavin Prunty.

Hyland smashed Heagney in three and Fitzgerald outpointed Matt Scriven over eight.

Andy Murray was off form after a layoff but beat Alex Bone over 6x3.

You got more air time last night than Khan ya chunt!

They showed the Murray and Hyland fights alright.

McDonagh could be a gem. Kelly might be the pride of Dundalk but so is Harp Lager and neither impress me. Prunty is intriguing - a surf that has pretty much just turned his hand ot pugilism - he is in some condition and Paddy C loves those shorts.

They showed

Prunty has a fascinating story to tell and if I get round to it one day I'll write an article on him.

The mighty Damian Taggart also won, over six rounds, against Wladimir Borov. Taggart is (very slowly) improving and seems to sell a few tickets.

Aint seen Taggart yet but I am not sure about him. You're always hyping the Ulster boys anyway. :OhYes:

He's poor no doubt.

Well to change form I'll add that I was most impressed by Hyland and Fitzgerald last night :TU:
