After all Hayes bragging about how he's ready to take on an ex-world champ in Carl Thompson, he's next proposed opponent, American Eric Starr was not approved by the board!
As secondsout.com reveals, the 37 year old's 22 fight career, with only 3 stopages in his 11 wins, didn't impress.
Now Haye (whom I am a fan of) needs to stop calling out people of Thompsons' class, when he trying to fight 37 yo's who are not getting approved.

Shame on you David.
Anyone else think he talks too much?
I think the Thompson fight is something for the near future, but certainly not now. My twin brother bumped into Haye on the train to Sheffield for the Hobson-Woods fight and discussed his lack of current suitable opponents at cruiserweight. "Why don't you fight some smaller heavies?" he enquired. Both Haye and Adam Booth seemed receptive to that idea. Personally, I feel Haye should be fighting the Luke Simpkins and even the Derek McCaffertys of this world as he ticks over. They would take him a few rounds, which is what he needs right now.
I think David Haye is the hottest prospect in British Boxing and I like the way he is calling out the British cruiserweights. He struggles to find anybody decent to fight him because they all know how good he is or they want an absolute fortune to fight him
IMO David should keep calling out people in Thompsons class and sooner or later one of them might have the bollox to fight him.
I can see why the Cat doesn't want to fight him, if you are on the comeback trail Haye is the last person you want to come up against.
Most people criticise boxers for not stepping up their class of opponent i.e. Audley and Ricky Hatton, in David Haye we have someone who is willing to take on all-comers after a handful of fights and he is getting criticised for that[/b]

My point was that there is too big a difference in who he is calling out (talking the talk), and who he is actually trying to make fights with (walking the walk).
Although, on ESB (where he posts quite a bit) he did claim that he was genuinely trying to make the fights happen, but no other legitimate cruisers wanted to know.

It certainly can be done. Might be quite a draw as well.
I seem to remember Johnny Nelson was WBU Heavyweight Champion of the world once!

I post on ESB (as Chambers) and have read his posts, he is having great difficulty in finding suitable opponents who will fight him and I think this is the reason he is calling out the likes of Thompson and the reason he has been reduced to fighting American Muppets
I don't want to start slagging off Haye yet, unlike Audley he has got time on his side. But, after a very good debut opponent this choice to shock me.
I know he's stated that its hard to find the fights, but surely there are opponents who are willing to fight him that would get barred by the BBBoC. The suggestion of a run as heavyweight is good, but I wouldn't like to see him mess around with his weight just now. Even though Skillwise he's should make the likes of McCafferty look silly, but still if I was investing in him I wouldn't feel confortable about putting a 13 stoner in with a 16 stoner. Not untill he gains more experience.
However, there must be a fair selection of import in the Grant Scott Biggs, Tony Booth league.
If not how about SMALLER but more capable guys like Neil Linford or Chris Davies. They would help Haye's development.
Will someone finally please tell me why Paul Bonson has been ignored as a Haye opponent before I go totally crazy.
The man is a rock hard cruiserweight who has mixed with a DOZEN heavyweights and has lasted the distance with ALL of them. He will fight ANYBODY on 5 minutes notice. There is NO REASON WHATSOEVER for him to turn down Haye, he has mixed with guys who hit nearly as hard (and weigh a lot more) so he should view it as a challenge to last the rounds.
I've been talking about this for ages but noone knows or cares why the mysterious avoidance is taking place.
