Roach and Amir reject Maidana, AK to vacate

Post by Chambers2 »

I'm trying my hardest to be an Amir Khan fan, but he's not making it easy for me. Really disappointed they've bottled the Maidana fight :KO:

Expect a non-punching replacement

I love to watch Khan fight he always brings the excitement, but it looks as though he's going to go the Hatton and Calzaghe route and not take any high risk/low reward fights i.e. the fans miss out on the most exciting contest

Paper Champ if this is true.

Roach needs to train and shut up, he is getting as bad as Emmanuel Steward.

Yep Banjo, if he vacates and fights one of the other champs then it's cool. If not, then very uncool

Yeah I agree, but the opponent is going to have to be pretty special to be more entertaining than Maidana.

I'll settle for Tim Bradley

Why Khan has the boxing ability and patience to beat Maidana, Maidana was getting outboxed by Ortiz it was only when Ortiz got over confident or traded with him. I really do think Khan could outbox him for 12 rounds and win easily on points. It would also be a good name on the record for Khan

dont understand he has talent no doubt about it but cant have every opponant hand picked, this is a joke if he doesnt fight maidana i would have more respect for him if he faught maidana and got kod than if he vacates and avoids him.
he should fight maidana then if he comes through fight devon alexander(imo the most beatable out of the 3) then bradley for the unification fight.
people would have a lot more time for him if he did.

Amir Khan step upto the plate. If he vacates this is a blatant a "duck" as you're ever likely to see in boxing. I've been a long time fan/defender of Khan but if he really does duck Maidana, you can't defend him. Its all true he/his management really do just cherry pick the fights. My cousin was contemplating going to see Salita versus Khan and I told him to bother as Salita is pants - I told him to wait for the Maidana fight which would be much more of a contest.

really disappointing news if he vacates.

especially after giving us the salita fight to keep the damn thing.

i hate the title belts.

couldn't care less about the wba. :shame:

but don't fight a dud mandatory then avoid the decent one.

I am a khan fan, i believe he would fight anyone put in front of him. but his advisers want otherwise, everyones knows warrens style of feeding bums to the champs but wouldnt roach get paid no matter what or does he get % of the purse?

i think khan could beat both bradley and alexander. why is there talk of rees v alexander and not khan v alexander?

Khans talent is unquestionable, he's confidence and chin are the big question marks.

Lets see who he picks next before we go too hard on him.

I know Erik Morale is the size of an elephant at the moment but I wouldn’t be surprised if he came out of the woodwork.

How about Malignaggi, that would do, wouldn’t it?

Possibley maybe even Diaz after he has a few more fights. He doesnt have power and Khan could outbox him

Don't look to good if Khan vacates unless he has something bigger than Maidana lined up. That said, I think the back to back mandatory situation that the WBA have enforced is pathetic. The only reason they aren't getting stick for it is because fans actually want to see Khan Vs Maidana, it could quite easily be Khan having another mandatory as useless as Salitia.
