Clev's WBO title chance?

Post by stujones »

With Brahmer likely to vacate - he's going to Jail..... I notice Clev is ranked 4 with the WBO.

Roy Jones will surely lose his WBO ranking soon.... so I wonder if the available Clev will get the shot.

I would like him to go through the Euro level 1st but hopefully if he wins that then he will get a title shot. As for Brahmer what an idiot to waste his talent like that :witzend:

WBO LHW rankings as of last month:

1 Bernard Hopkins USA
2 Karo Murat (Int-Cont) GER
3 Vyacheslav Uzelkov USA
4 Nathan Cleverly GB
5 Isaac Chilembe (WBO Africa) MAL
6 Dmitry Sukhotsky (WBO Europe) RUS
7 Dean Francis GB
8 Hugo Hernan Garay ARG
9 Mariano Nicolas Plotinsky ARG
10 Chris Henry USA
11 Roy Jones, Jr. USA
12 Soulan Pownceby (Asia-Pacific) USA

Looks like a fair chance Cleverly will be in the mix.

On a side note, Dean Francis???

Murat and Plotinsky fight later this month for the inter-cont trinket I Would not be surprised to see that be for the full title now and if that goes to form the Germans will have the WBO title back where it was before Braehmer did his thing.

Played Bob Dylans 'Hurricane' in the court room a week before he was sentenced. He really is an oddball.

Off on a tangent, but when I was back at Christmas I saw that the men's clothing store Dean part-owned in Bristol has changed hands. Guess it's not surprising given the financial climate but hope that he himself is still doing OK. Really hoped he'd go on to better things after the great win over Tony Oakey, but things didn't pan out that way...

These rankings suggest Hopkin's Jones II could be for the vacant title

Erdei has given up the WBC cruiserweight belt already. He´ll get one of the two spots, if Brähmer is indeed forced to vacate.
